Better get in you Soul
That's a great tune. It's actually called "Better Git It in Your Soul". It's from the album "Ah Um" which I recommended earlier in this thread.

What do you think of "Epitaph"? I've never heard it. Are you listening to the Gunther Schuller led recording?

Mingus at Antibbes has a great version of that song. In fact I think that that concert is my favorite Mingus recording.

Terrific recording. Tony Williams's energy fits perfectly here. he sometimes doesn't fit at all. Richard Davis is so very versatile. His playing on Astral Weeks be Van Morrison is amongst the finest bass playing of any rock recording.

But now you can scowl. i'm listening to the Return to Forever anthology. I've always had a fondness for the jazz fusion pioneers.

I think in some liner notes I read that Davis was Stravinsky's bassist of choice. Wasn't Connie Kay of the MJQ also on Astral Weeks?

So far as RTF goes, as the man said at the end of "Some Like it Hot", "Well, nobody's perfect" 🙂

Connie Kay was the drummer. Not a bad rock group I would say.
