Jon Balke & Magnetic North Orchestra - Kyanos.

I think I'm now a true fan of this quixotic performer.

Sounds like it should be a good show. Let us know how it turns out.

Do you know who else is in the group?

Eric Gravatt has been touring with him so he might be there. A little bit of weather Report funk type drumming I guess.

I just finished 9 hours straight in front of the computer working on a translation. I decided not to select music album by album because that can be distracting and it can even become an excuse for not getting my head down and giving the keyboard a bit of the old serious clackety clack.

So I loaded up, totally at random, about 7 or 8 'bending corners' compilations that I've hoovered up over the years from www.bendingcorners.com (I have about 60 of them). I've never really paid them too much attention - but I've got to say I just had one of the most brilliant 9 hour sessions of listening in many a while. It was like the perfect radio station - seamless music - no talk or jingles - each selection and mix invisaged and executed perfectly.

Apparently I listened to:

cinematic-jazz-scenes
Classic Architecture
cosmic-jazz-journeys
epic-jazz-brew
Fission
Mr. Dynamite
out-in-between
warped-oscillations

About an hour or so each. Really thrilled - ears still tingling. Perfect for when you just want somebody else to choose the music for you. Spent the day figuring out the artists, tracks, albums - and the website has the playlists too.

Got the translation done too.

From Bahasa Indonesia into nuanced English. Can't help myself. A mixture of fear and a compulsion to deceive.

That sums up translation practice quite nicely.
