What JAZZ are you listening to?

I was thinking about my piano teacher at Palomar College, the brother of Dave Brubeck, Howard Brubeck. I met Dave a few times, was in love with Howard's daughter, whom I shared a PE class, Ginger. Sigh. I was too scared to ask her out. She was beautiful and tall and lithe.

Howard wrote a lot of the music attributed to Dave. Not Take 5 though. RIP. He died in 1993.

I saw him play in the Village in the late 70's. He was just amazing....out jazz, straight ahead jazz, his own brand of jazz...and what a presence and show....
