Capital goods, etc on the one hand, and then you have financial markets which DIRECT 'savings' into those (productive) investments. Not the same thing.

Iran is asking for complete control of the strait and war reparations. Every day adds more to the deficit and there isnt even any pretending to try to pay for it through increased taxation. In fact, trump wants to remove gas taxes, which will only further sink the deficit number.

If you are part of the investment class, you have a broker and all your trades are on margin. Money loaned to you, which is by every definition, new money. Money created by debt for which the IRS was brought into existence to tax to pay the interest on that debt, BUT, the investing class invented fantasies about that money somehow having been taxed already, to excuse the wealthy trust baby to not feel guilty about paying any tax on anything!

When you are in a negotiation with another person or country, is it a good idea to come to the bargaining table with an attitude of "I don't care what the other party is asking for?" Art of the Deal says that's a bad idea.

Every day the war burns billions of tax dollars for no reason, gas gets more expensive, the deficit grows. You and Mott have both said in this thread that all Americans should pay more taxes to cover the deficit (supporting a war with no purpose). In the meantime, household debt is spiking, inflation is insane, over 100 million people are carrying over credit card debt balances, home electrical bills are skyrocketing, wages and the stock market are flat, and artificial intelligence is making everyone in the world just a little bit stupider. Politicians are enabled not to care because their gerrymandered districts and dumb voters (from AI) keep them in office.

Meanwhile, the folks hired and tasked with fixing these important issues are 2-bit hucksters, TV personalities and podcasters who have no clue what they're doing. Would you trust Pete Hegseth with $1.5 trillion of your money? The guy cannot answer simple questions about military operations. Would you trust Kash Patel to run the FBI? He does not know whether or not it's a crime to lie under oath, and seems to do it frequently.

I make money, from various enterprises. Example..I collect money from a storage unit business that I have never seen, never been there.
