@Mott-The-Hoople saidExcept now it's the Republican plantation, isn't that right, Mott?
Probably so, of their own doing.
That the part you don’t get…democrats plantation.
@no1marauder saidMarauder, see that there are 2 diff defs of 'investment.
This is a waste of my time; of course economic investment is important but buying stock isn't economic investment. That's not my opinion, it's Economics 101. And economics describes the real world not the fantasy world someone sold your simple mind on.
Rich folks can have all the money in the world, but if there is not robust consumer spending investment is going to be ...[text shortened]... king and middle class.
And when tax policy rewards that, it's a recipe for economic instability.
Capital goods, etc on the one hand, and then you have financial markets which DIRECT 'savings' into those (productive) investments. Not the same thing.
And no sense in me writing the obvious benefits of buying stock,.which of coourse lowers the cost of raising capital,,,,but you know that. If you start focusing on consumption and punish investemnt and risk, you marauder will slow it all down.
I see that you are more concerned about everything being 'mathematically equal' rather than moving upward economically. Hey,, it ain't gonna be equal. People and things are different in the world. I guess I could level things at my house by giving my housekeeper half of my assets? Wonder how her share would end up? Invested for a greater America????,,Or, consumed.
Straighten out your priorities, and quit trying to force an impossible society. Won't work. Never has.
@wildgrass saidYour random comments fall flat simply because you blame ALL OF THE ILLS ON ONE MAN. zzzzzz. why would someone read your sonhouse-like post?
LOL "trying"
You want to give dear leader a participation trophy? You want to reward him for things he "says"? What a joke.
The deficit skyrocketed almost immediately both times he's been president, directly resulting from insane tax cuts to people who don't need them and don't use them to grow the economy, combined with massive spending increases on stuff that doesn' ...[text shortened]... f course the bankers, lawyers and oil companies.
Maybe he should stop trying and just take the L.
You do not mention for instance, the influx of murder and rape and cost that is sliming over our border. Biden, perhaps?
One man responsible. Yeah....I don't think I will write on your silliness.
Don't like a president that tries? He tries today with Xi to end chinee Dominance over rare earth. You'd rather we get the Kamala person to give it a shot.?
You libs have nothing.,,,,nothing to do,,,,,nothing to talk about.....O0o0o0h, except Trump. He is all any of you and your leaders talk about.
Losers. Got nothing. Nothing.
@AverageJoe1 saidTrump took credit for creating all of it. You don't think he deserves blame for the fallout? Just give him a participation trophy for trying and failing.

Not one of you has acknowledged the boom that will hit after Iran is put down. Oh, maybe you think Iran will best Trump..... 😆 .
So when the economy takes off (see markets) will YOU back off of your 'blame'.? You'll be telling your partner, Ernie, look at the gas price drop.
Blame is such a faerie word.
I gotta say, you fellows don't know much. Iran, for instance. you know NOTHING about Trump reasoning. I am sure myself, of course, that he is doing that to show, for instance, China, that they better leave Taiwan alone. We can handle that like we will have handled Iran. Trump sends messages. But you guys are not getting the message.

@AverageJoe1 saidIran is asking for complete control of the strait and war reparations. Every day adds more to the deficit and there isnt even any pretending to try to pay for it through increased taxation. In fact, trump wants to remove gas taxes, which will only further sink the deficit number.

You're an optimist but I don't see this ending well for the world. European economies are already discussing how to prevent petulant fascists acting like children from ruining the world... Again. US global power is permanently gone.

Your comments are all-encompassing, Where does an optomistic conservative start, as you Democrats exhibit extreme racism. You railroad, this very day, black districts, black voters, to vote on black policies. You are a racist. As you promote this tyoe of society, you will divide rhe country. So allow me to BLAME you for the discontent, to ruin our country, which you say that Trump is doing???? And you want illegal slime to break in here at the same time!??!??
I asked Marauder one of my non-answerable questions. Would you hire someone that you know nothing about to enter your house? To work, or to just take a seat, eat your food? He would not answer. You know the reason. Because, he is, like you,, conflicted. He WANTS people to enter our country that we know nothing about. But he does not want to associate them into his home.
What a mess is Marauder. And you.
😀
My posting is so simple, so practical, so correct. Nothing conflicting, no rambling like you and sonhouse. Factual, to the point. Dems are racist for instance,...I proved it above.
PS: Your first sentencd above...."Iran is asking for...." Who cares? YOu seem to be a studenr of our Empathetic President, Obama. Ahhhhh, empathy, I wish Trump could be empathetic. I wish General Patton would have been more empathetic!!! 😆
Why have a president that exlxhibits, and acts with, strength?
Quiz: Which of dems and repubs would you say are the strongest?
@AverageJoe1 saidYou are this much of a trump sycophant but you haven't even read art of the deal?

Did you see my wonderful post just above, bringing up great points to which you do not respond? what a boring morning
You and Sunhouse need to entertain us more about what you think about things. Your opinions! 😵💫
@AverageJoe1 saidNow enough of your faerie stories. This lie is what you tell kids who can only cope with Sesame Street.
The plumber’s $500 is payment for immediate labor consumption. A capital gain is not simply a paycheck ….it’s the result of risking already taxed savings over time in productive enterprises
There is no wealthy person on earth who invests with their own money! If you are not investing other people's money you are not really investing.
If you are part of the investment class, you have a broker and all your trades are on margin. Money loaned to you, which is by every definition, new money. Money created by debt for which the IRS was brought into existence to tax to pay the interest on that debt, BUT, the investing class invented fantasies about that money somehow having been taxed already, to excuse the wealthy trust baby to not feel guilty about paying any tax on anything!
Don't worry, we see you baby, shakin that ass.......
@AverageJoe1 saidWhen you are in a negotiation with another person or country, is it a good idea to come to the bargaining table with an attitude of "I don't care what the other party is asking for?" Art of the Deal says that's a bad idea.

Every day the war burns billions of tax dollars for no reason, gas gets more expensive, the deficit grows. You and Mott have both said in this thread that all Americans should pay more taxes to cover the deficit (supporting a war with no purpose). In the meantime, household debt is spiking, inflation is insane, over 100 million people are carrying over credit card debt balances, home electrical bills are skyrocketing, wages and the stock market are flat, and artificial intelligence is making everyone in the world just a little bit stupider. Politicians are enabled not to care because their gerrymandered districts and dumb voters (from AI) keep them in office.
Meanwhile, the folks hired and tasked with fixing these important issues are 2-bit hucksters, TV personalities and podcasters who have no clue what they're doing. Would you trust Pete Hegseth with $1.5 trillion of your money? The guy cannot answer simple questions about military operations. Would you trust Kash Patel to run the FBI? He does not know whether or not it's a crime to lie under oath, and seems to do it frequently.
@kmax87 saidI make money, from various enterprises. Example..I collect money from a storage unit business that I have never seen, never been there. It got built, people store stuff there, each sends in $325/month for my service to them. I go play golf. You will say..."you don't EARN that money!!" Right.. Start a thread on that one!

Anyway, I have my own money. Contrary to your stupid 'No person invests their own money"????????????????????,,,,I invest MY earned money. (you libs would rather it be consumed!!)....No, I like to see it grow. NVIDIA is up quite a bit, I am waiting for a dip, to buy more.
So, I need elaborate no further on your stupid post. Maybe sue can interpret for us.
Idiot. Take a break.
@wildgrass saidIn this case, I am with the Art of he Deal author, Trump. At some point, there is an impasse, you see.

If you and I negotiate, and you ask for the impossible, your reasons for same would be met by me with a response of 'What you want?.... i don't care 'why' you want something, whatever , you will not get it":. I Don't Care. Stop talking.
You see, it started as a negotiation, but at this point, specifically Iran, it is about to end. I just said it a bit before Trump has.
Trump is close to ignoring his book chapters!! You think that this 'We must care about the other party's position is absolute!?!?? You are naive.

@AverageJoe1 saidNo, absolutely not absolute. But if that is the case then a deal is impossible and the war/blockade goes on forever.

Don't forget the part where the "negotiators" are 2-bit hucksters who normally sell suckers on bad real estate deals. They're trying to make a deal with a religious fundamentalist?
This is like asking a 2 year old child to mow the lawn. They can't even reach the handlebar, and Iran knows it. That's why Iran is asking for ridiculous things.
