We all know that 1024x768 monitor resolution is better than 800x600... but why do some refuse to step up to 1152x864?
Should we do something to change this, or just let it go?

On some apps, the higher resolution makes things too small. Fiddling with fonts often does not help.

I got 2 17" monitors side-by-side with horizontal spanning - my resolution is set to 2560 X 960.
Boyakasha 😉
I've got a 15 next to a 17 here at work... and 17 and 17 at home.
Last night was dreaming of being home on my own system... I am taking care of my father's house, and dog... and have been on a one monitor computer all stinking week.
Now 2560x960... that is crazy huge... (or small as my father would say) I'll have to give that a go at home... my work computer might Splode!

Must say , I've never heard of anyone inbetween 1024 and 1280. Why ?
As for anything above 1280, kinda becomes difficult to read RHP threads, even with text size set to large on RHP. Great for developing, but not great for alt tabbing into your 1024 applications..
PS: As for geek conversations of the week, I think this takes the prize.

Two monitors = TEH WINNAH!!!
I have a dual monitor setup at work (my coworker has three) and it's so nice that I find it inconvenient to use my computer at home with a single monitor. And my desk is designed in such a way that having a side-by-side setup is impossible.
All you have to do is buy a Y-splitter (Best Buy has them) for your monitor cable and adjust your display settings in the control panel (hit the Display icon, then click the Settings tab).
