@moonbus saidAnd yet this is exactly what was done in 2016.
PS Just so you know, not everyone whose family name is Gonzales is an illegal alien. Automatically bumping every "Gonzales" off the voter registration roles is going to catch too many dolphins in the tuna fish net.
Kris Kobach shopped around to swing states a list of supposed names of people found registered in more than one state. This list was filled with stereotypical black, Hispanic and Asian last names and several of these states stripped these names off their voter rolls within 90 days of the election, so that, in case they realized their name had been stripped from the rolls, they had zero time to re-register for the 2016 election. These people had their votes nullified in advance. Sure, they could vote a provisional ballot, but almost all of these were thrown out since their names didn't appear on the official voter rolls because they had been stripped off of it.
I wrote about this right after the 2016 election many times in this forum.
@AverageJoe1 saidThe proposed cure is worse than the disease. It compels states to add another level of bureaucracy to what is already a bloated system, in order to catch perhaps 20 illegal voters. It’s like compelling states to maintain an additional protocol of every single parking ticket issued, on the off chance that a few bogus parking tickets might get issued in error.
Very good. Let us all take your word for it. Life is too short for me to 'research' some counter, you are thus saying that no non-citizen will ever be even considered to be allowed to vote in US fed elections. I do not believe that for one second, so we will just see if there is any rumbling from the AOCs of the world, and those partners of hers in the funny hats. Who wears hats!!?!/?
@moonbus saidDon’t you see? You say ‘cure’. Cure for what? For 230 years only citizens vote. Say, 1991. Only citizens. Now it is 2024. Has something changed? Why will you not respond to this question?

And since they cannot vote, what are all the reams of articles about? What is Marauder’s post about.?
And we stipulate with all the invaders, coupled with liberal policies, new every day, that there may be a few people we do not know that will try to vote. Life is not perfect.
@AverageJoe1 saidThis is standard Republican playbook.

Instill fear that There are hordes of non-Americans voting in our elections! They're stealing your vote! And if you do a good enough job, you might make it harder for hordes of Democrats to vote.
@Suzianne saidHere again, a post which is irrelevant if we simply have a law that says that only citizens vote in federal elections. Why does sue think she needs to post this? Most curious. Maybe her point is that republicans try to scare people? Then maybe do a thread on that? I’d like to know why she thinks that.

Does sue think that AvJoe is trying to scare her by saying non-citizens should not vote? I may have any number of reasons to say that. Is it to scare her? Help me Rhonda. Sue, regardless the reason, how bout you respond,,,’yes, only citizens should vote’. Marauder could do that too!
Marauder was correct to say that diff govts and entities, organizations, can certainly have their own requirements. The Rotary Club can agree to let people from Uruguay vote, I am writing about federal elections, which affect us all.
Now please get some coffee.

Only citizens are allowed to vote right now.
The only reason to start screaming stolen elections! is to create voting impediments for registered voters, because we're all quite aware that when lots of Americans vote, Republicans lose. They know it too. Remember 2020?
@AverageJoe1 saidThat you will lose.
Then what is everyone writing about?
The SAVE bill, which 198 Dems voted against……………?
What is the concern that is harbored by conservative Americans like me? And by republican legislators?
Simples.

@AverageJoe1 saidNo one is in favor of non-citizens voting (in federal elections). What opposition to the proposed legislation is based on is that the legislation does not solve any real problems; it is simply making elections more complicated for states to administer.

Look, the real issue here is this: Republicans' voter base is shrinking. This is a demogarphic fact. They are looking in all the wrong places why their candidate lost in 2020. Trump did not lose in 2020 because millions of dead people voted. Trump did not lose in 2020 because millions of non-citizens voted. Trump did not lose in 2020 because millions of votes were tipped by compromised voting machines. Trump did not lose in 2020 because millions of fake ballots were smuggled in from China. Trump lost in 2020 because millions more legitimate votes were cast for his opponent. And the Republicans just don't want to accept that. Republicans are doing everything in their power to avoid the bloody obvious way out of their lack of appeal to a majority of the electorate, which would be to change their bloody stupid policies and repudiate their toxic magalomaniac Pied Piper.
@moonbus saidOf course, I think there is no question that the Republican base is shrinking. What’s the proper way to say it is the Democrat base is increasing in great numbers on a daily basis with every crossing at the border. That is why I have been saying that they will win in 28 and for all years thereafter.

I think it will be too late for Trump, as good as he is to, to turn it all around. I really do hate our tax dollars going to support all of these invaders.

``You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American.''
Yes, the torch of Lady Liberty symbolizes our freedom and represents our heritage, the compact with our parents, our grandparents, and our ancestors. It is that lady who gives us our great and special place in the world. For it's the great life force of each generation of new Americans that guarantees that America's triumph shall continue unsurpassed into the next century and beyond. Other countries may seek to compete with us; but in one vital area, as a beacon of freedom and opportunity that draws the people of the world, no country on earth comes close.
This, I believe, is one of the most important sources of America's greatness. We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people -- our strength -- from every country and every corner of the world. And by doing so we continuously renew and enrich our nation.
While other countries cling to the stale past, here in America we breathe life into dreams. We create the future, and the world follows us into tomorrow. Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we're a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier. This quality is vital to our future as a nation. If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.

@Mott-The-Hoople
So Trump and Project 2025 telling us who can vote is SO much better than the ragged democracy we have now, right?
Project 2025 is a mandate to stop blacks and browns from being real citizens and they want them to be relegated to third class status, making whitey king again, you know, that part where they killed tens of million of native Americans in their takeover of the US and having slaves and such,
I would not be surprised if those traitors in project 2025 would end up enacting again if we turned into a dictatorship with them in charge.
I imagine that is your goal as well.

@moonbus saidThe elephant is how they freeload, Why don’t you mention that? You see, Ronnie was referring to the way it has been up until Biden opened our border with Obama’s instructions, in the quest to transform America, spread the wealth.

Do you think FOR ONE SECOND that Reagan was speaking of what is going on today? You know that he was not. So, this outdated speech and your liberal intentions are flat. They fall flat. Pretend you think like me. Do you think that I would in anyway see these points being applicable? Do you think they are applicable?
Yeah, anyone can become an American. But not how you and your socialist friends want it to happen. There were no ‘handouts’ for the people at Ellis Island. Just this sentence pushes your post flat on its face.
What a joke.
