@averagejoe1 saidNobody but the most hippie pacifist says you should not own guns for defence.

Just pass a damn training course and exam like you do for a driving license.
Just not have Ar-15's in walmarts just like you can't drive tanks on public roads
Just pass a damn psych eval.
Just don't give guns to domestic abusers.
Just don't allow rednecks from red states sell their personal guns to whomever in a back alley.
@averagejoe1 saidI made his screams my new ringtone.

@zahlanzi saidIt's the 'psych eval' that gets them every time.

@zahlanzi saidAll correct. It is common sense, which I always preach.

@averagejoe1 saidNice to see you agree with something sensible.

@kingdavid403 saidThat one wingnut who shot Arizona Congresswoman
It's the 'psych eval' that gets them every time.
Gabby Giffords was just released from the 'bug house,'
and was still allowed to LEGALLY PURCHASE a firearm.

As I went to source this post, I could find no mention of the shooter being
committed to an institution. He was however, suspended from college
for 'disruptive and strange behavior.' At his arraignment a federal judge
found him to be 'incompetent to stand trial.' He was, later sentenced
to life in prison.

@averagejoe1 saidCan it be? Is it possible?
Common Sense is hardly something to be lauded. It is common sense.
Are we in agreement that, in order to purchase
a firearm, a buyer must pass a background check,
and complete a training course?
Common sense, right Jo ?
As it stands now it's easier to buy a gun
than it is to obtain a driver license.
@sonhouse saidYeah, goes without saying....
@Zahlanzi
AND make it so the age of ownership is 21 so whacked out highschoolers whose brains haven't even reached maturity cannot buy weapons.
Even at 21 people are more likely
to act impulsively, 25 might be better.
This ts the reason The Founding Fathers
put an age requirement of 35, in The Constitution,
in order to be President. In 1785, age 35 would be more
like age 50(?) today.

Now that we all agree on soeth9ing, in the way of common sense, is it common sense to borrow money when you have no real plan to pay it back?
Is it common sense to expect people around you to pay the loan off for you?
Sorry to throw a wrench into our tranquility!! But would not common sense be applicable in the deliberations of our panel in ruling on this??
Or, provide your own scenario which may be a real brain teaser. ..........When to apply common sense.
Next week the subject will be Rationale!!!
@averagejoe1 saidI wouldn't know about that.

Never done it
As for 'common sense,'
Would you lend money to someone that
had no visible means to repay the loan?
