Wouldn't that be interesting ?

Who do you think would win:

1. On foreign policy issues; the Iraq war, the War on Terror, Israel/Palestine question, the North-Korea question, the Iran question, relation with France, Germany, Russia, China (Taiwan) etc.

2. On social issues.

3. On economic and financial issues

4. On evironmental issues.

What are your thoughts ? Who would win ?

Tony Tiger.

Kerry only knows what Carvill and his handlers write for him. To be more exact... "what they pay writers to write for him".

If I am a judge of men... Kerry is nothing. As opposed to Bush being a very minor "thing". As opposed to Blair's greatness.

Blair would crush Kerry in a debate, no matter what the issues would be.

That's one thing I love about the British Parliament - speechwriters mean naught.

A civil servant told me the other day that Prime Ministers are told the questions in advance of PM's Question Time, which makes the apparently slick exchange of views slightly less impressive...

There are many people who admire the British parliament for having such good debates. I cannot agree on that. The debates are usually very superficial, not digging any deeper than the usual one and a half inch and it usually is an exchange of more or less witty remarks between the government and the opposition. The information value usually is very low, however the entertainment value can be very high at times.

...... but still Blair would crush Kerry in any debate and, by the way, he also would crush Bush in for instance a debate on general social issues.

This thread touches on why PMQ's are a must-see for me and my wife each week. The leaders actually have to know what they're talking about (unlike the president of a certain country I'm living in.)

My understanding is that the questions from the government's party are often told ahead of time for obvious reasons.

Based on how Speaker Martin has handled certain situations, my understanding is the subject of the question is known ahead of time but not the exact question. Too often Blair has said "I'll have to get back to you on that particular point" for it to be scripted.

That being said, Blair would whip Kerry so badly it wouldn't be funny.....

A Blair-Edwards debate would be much more interesting. Both are naturals.

I would love to witness a debate between the two about the War on Terror and the related issues, such as Iraq, Israel/Palestine, North Korea and Iran.

I'm not convinced Edwards is such a natural. He's great when it comes to presentation on a stump speech. And when the general atmosphere is relaxed he's fine. But Blair can fire back with the best of them and in that environment - as Cheney proved last night - Edwards isn't such a natural.

I just logged onto the news and read the promise of Edwards that if "you elect John Kerry, those like Christopher Reeves will rise and walk".

What a silly, cruel and mean thing to say. <edit> He said it in support of stem cell research... though there is not and has never been a link to same research and spinal severance. Go figure. Stem cell research has a "small" chance of helping alzheimers patients and... not much else. There are currently 65 million dollars worth of "bush" aid and grants waiting with the 35 available stem cell foundations available. Guess what. No takers. No Ideas on what to try and research. Go figure! if you dare. <edit> Better yet, come up with a proposal to help humankind! It is just setting there. Bush. Money he provided. For Research. On the existing lines. No takers. Yet. So do it, all you wise and superior Liberals. Take the money. Save our race from severed spines. We need you! Step forward and save our severed spines!

Is this guy really that dumb? And when he is back in private practice... (nov 2, 2004) will he make another 30 million suing spinal chord victims (care givers) as he did making his first 30 million suing insurance companies of mothers with Cerebral Palsy? Claiming (on totally refuted evidence) that the doctors "caused" the cp?

What a scum bag. I'm sure glad for democrats. They have a truly wonderful representative in mr. scum bag John II (Edwards... Ambulances Are Us) and 'Law Suit Are Us'.
