Democratic ideals are impractical in today's world. "Democracy" leaves a government ripe for oligarchy.
How do you figure they are impractical?

They result in governments which are incompatible with Friedman fairytales.

The first question doesn't work. The others are just surreal and idiotic enough to pass.
They're just as idiotic as considering having a one-party system.

You can have permanent revolutionary state, like Mexico.

I think a ONE party system would really = a no party system, which I think is ideal.

I'm sick of people drawing party lines and having to defend their "team". Of course I say that but I, myself, am a Democrat. But that's only because I agree with Democratic ideals on most issues. I still would prefer that it was every man and woman for themselv ...[text shortened]... p just for the sake of blasting the "other" party.

Of course, this will never happen.
Thats why you have independents.

But they don't get a majority, you need a party to back you up.

They aren't "permanent revolutionary;" they're corruption in a government!

Now, where did I say that?

Your jumps in "logic" are hard to follow ... if you can explain them to me that would be great.

Competition allows replacement of the worse and weaker with the better fitted leaders. It's like capitalism or even evolution. If a new company or species appears that is better fitted to its environment, then the other competitors will have to improve and adapt or else face partial displacement... if the old has beens have any sense, they will eventually adapt and try to regain leadership.

So with one-party states, you lose competition and find the increasing signs of the corrupting influence of power.

Or as Lord Acton put it: "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
