Have you ever wondered why the US has thanksgiving so close to Christmas?
Why have two major, food-stuffing celebrations so close together?

Harvest festivals are generally held much earlier in Autumn...

Well, it seems the puritans (Brownists) did not celebrate Christmas. And celebrating Christmas was banned.

So, to still have a sort of a celebration, they did their thanksgiving later, but not that late that it might look like an alternative Christmas.

Happy Christmas all of you!
Stay safe!

Damn Puritans.

The modern-day hypocrite Puritans (the religious right) are still trying their best to screw up this country.

Worked out well for the non puritans in the end though. Them puritans will be raging.
