@mott-the-hoople saidYeah, maybe start a thread about it. I'm not sure anyone would disagree.
The FBI is not an authoritarian agency, the are subject to congressional oversight like any other agency.
Regarding the topic of this thread, what do you think about elected officials who deny records requests by private citizens?

@wildgrass saidwhere do you get the "abusing executive privilege " from?

IThis is a good example of how liberal media mislead,
Here is a link to an unbiased report.

"lawmakers in state capitols were pursuing a mixture of proposals — some excluding more government records from public inspection; others increasing the ability of people to keep an eye on their government. But nowhere, perhaps, have Sunshine Week issues garnered as much attention as in Florida — due largely to DeSantis' powerful platform to voice his complaints about the media."
wonder why CNN would omit that part?
@mott-the-hoople saidThe CNN article does mention that, with a lot more detail. LOL.

I oppose any action that allows elected officials to do things secretly. Ron's administration is using executive privilege arguments which should only apply to presidents regarding international matters. Is that clear enough for you?
@mott-the-hoople saidYour paranoia strikes deep, doesn't it?

@mott-the-hoople saidYou really throw the word 'lie' around a lot for no reason.

CNN
DeSantis in court cases has lately claimed “executive privilege” to block the release of records and to keep staff from testifying – a power typically reserved for presidents and which none of his predecessors had previously asserted is entrusted to the state’s governor. If realized, it would give DeSantis tremendous new discretion to keep information about his administration from the public.
your article
In an unprecedented move for the Sunshine State, DeSantis has claimed an executive right to keep key government records secret. He's also seeking to weaken a nearly 60-year-old national legal precedent protecting journalists and others who publish critical comments about public figures.
Are you ok with this?
@wildgrass saidyou claimed the cnn article covered this...that is your lie

I don't get it. It seems off topic related to this thread. Here I thought you were on here defending desantis. That's my misunderstanding, not a lie.
How do you feel about hardening resistance to records requests, like Ron is doing?
@wildgrass saidno, my gripe is you lying about it

no, my gripe is you lying about it
Then you lied again by saying I lied.
Liar.
