This term has always, until very recently, only applied to the President of the United States, and only in cases where government function is at risk.

Now we have a state governor invoking executive privilege to prevent release of information regarding publicly-funded travel and visitor logs. These have long been a matter of public record. In other words, the public should be able to know where their governor is traveling to and who they are meeting with. Right?

Of course he doesn't want that information known. The main takeaway is he will lose bigtime when he runs against Trump come next November which is a good thing, it will ensure the votes will be split up and dems will win by even a bigger margin this time.
And I will have ZERO doubt Trump will be screaming MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD, again, maybe this time from his jail cell.....

Yeah I don't think trump was ever as popular among Republicans as polls show. He still won, and people vote for him just because they are told Biden is the antichrist.

Absolutely.

There are of course exceptions. But these can’t be redacted or withheld by the governor (or politician) - in most countries.
It’s the bureau responsible for data management and archives, which control these issues.
So, it could be that a certain trip, for reason X can’t be made public for an Y-amounf of years.

But again, it can’t be the politician who decides this, because that can be a conflict of interests.

Yeah that's exactly right. This is why we have clear rules for record requests. The executive privilege argument is absurd.

It’s almost like the GOP has pinned its faint hopes an authoritarian dictatorship to get around that pesky democracy thing

I don't understand why this is partisan. Records requests need to be complied with regardless of party affiliation.

So the FBI says they have this proof of corruption but won’t hand it over because they like Biden too much.
Or
Some disgruntled partisan ex FBI employee is lying it’s face off and there is no proof
Or
The whole freaking story is bs from a bs website
Is there some sort of link so a person could assertion the veracity of your claim?

If it’s true… which it doesn’t sound like to me… the FBI probably can’t hand over information when it refers to an ongoing investigation.

Don’t you think?

I. If private citizens are asking for info on the activity of their elected officials, then I would say the info needs to be provided. I don't know details about how FBI handles these things.

The FBI is not an authoritarian agency, the are subject to congressional oversight like any other agency.

The records don't exist, nimrod, for obvious reasons.

Rather, the document they name exists, but it simply doesn't say anything like what they say it says.

You can't just subpoena "proof of biden corruption, durrrr", and hope they do your job.
