You may recall last month the SCOTUS ruled that the Venezuelan immigrants sought to be removed under the Alien Enemies Act had to be given notice and an opportunity for a hearing before removal. The administration in response tried to give such notice only in English and with only 24 hours notice making it ...[text shortened]... iondi to Trump's whims I doubt they will and thus avoid an ultimately crushing defeat in the SCOTUS.
I can bet any money, the Supreme Court can do nothing, except talk. Trump will go ahead with his plans. In the end and at some point the procedure in handling immigrants who are criminals will have to be agreed on and legalised. Maybe the constitution needs to be modified because it is this strict and ridiculous adherence to the wording of the constitution, that is causing the problem. In a nutshell illegal immigrants need to be returned to their home country. Tying up the courts in expensive legal proceedings [nonsensical due process] and appeals is a waste of the country's resources. A boat load of Cubans should not be allowed to set foot in the Keys, and demand due process. Illegal immigrants should have no rights except the right to be deported. Americans in general support Trumps immigration policy, and his aggressive deportation methods.

Sorry that you have so much hatred for the US and its rule of law.

The Constitution isn't going to be changed because Donald Trump finds it inconvenient.

Rather few Americans support deportation without any due process:

"According to a YouGov poll, 60% of Americans said they do not support "deporting immigrants without criminal convictions to El Salvador to be imprisoned without letting them challenge the deportation in court." Of those, 46% expressed strong opposition to the practice. In contrast, only 26% supported it, while 13% were unsure."

It is not possible to do 3,000,000 deportations with full due process in 4 years. Due process is very slow, expensive and totally unnecessary if the immigrant is a criminal. It is only because it is Trump these issues are now being raised.
The Executive Department claiming someone is a criminal who has not been convicted of any crime is insufficient to punish them in a country that is not a totalitarian one.

A gang member was deported to his home country, El Salvador. The president of his country said he is not sending him back to the US. Sounds fair.

Claiming 'hate' is low and childish. Try to discuss issues without the nonsense drama. Its not about Trump. Its about the ridiculous redtape that is required to deport millions of illegal immigrants. It will never get done unless the constitution is amended. Immigration problems are here to stay and will worsen over time with the increased likelihood of war and unrest all over the world.

Asking the wrong question in these polls is the way to get the desired answer. Those things are not trustworthy.

Even if he was a gang member (which is in dispute and should be settled by a judge) an existing court order barred him from being returned to El Salvador.

One would expect such lawless action from a convicted felon like Trump but it isn't "fair" or legal as the SCOTUS has already found.

The wording of the questions correctly described the issue as that is exactly what Trump is trying to do.

Deporting millions is a stupid idea anyway and if it can't be done without complying with the law and Constitution, so be it.

Nope.

Cliff, stop it. Where do you hear this nonsense? These deportations were done within acceptable legal framework at the time (and I think it still exists). Many illegal residents who were afforded the opportunity to make their case regarding asylum did not apply. Those people can and should be deported.

Kind of like if you're a deadbeat dad forced to pay child support, you still have to pay it even though you didn't show up for the hearing.
“Illegal Residents “ is an oxymoron, you silly goose

Importing millions is a stupid idea anyway and if it can't be done without complying with the law and Constitution, so be it.

And there is the problem...
extraordinary situations call for extraordinary resolutions

There is no "extraordinary situation". Illegal immigration into the country has been going on for many decades despite the right wing pretending it only occurred under Biden. Even at that, crossings dropped dramatically in 2024.

In fact, the vast majority of even undocumented immigrants make substantial contributions to the US economy esp. now when the country has a shortage of workers. Deporting any large portion of them is punching ourselves in the face to satisfy white nationalist goals unworthy of our diverse nation.

Again one talk [Supreme Court], and the other act. In this case it is expedited removal of criminals. Nothing can be done, except the watch and enjoy the show. Indeed many countries in these times have serious problems with unchecked immigration, and they are [secretly] following Trumps example. Courts and lawyers are the problem, as they will talk for years and fix nothing, citing constitution violations.

Why do you people continue to lie so blatantly. In or around 2022 to 23 Biden opened the Mexican border and flooded the US will millions of illegal immigrants. His effort to close it back in 2024 cannot be used as an example of a dramatic drop in border crossings, when in the prior 2 years it skyrocketed. You are such a deceitful liar.
