I heard Ron Paul can't become president because he was born in the Shire.

I think deep down most people like him to a certain degree, including myself, because of his stance on many issues. However, the camera does him no favors and his charisma is lacking, therefore, I don't see how he can expect to have much of a political career. In addition, the man is too conservative. He is all about smaller government and increased personal autonomy. Both major political parties have long since abandoned these goals and are too concerned with gaining more and more policial power for their own respective parties.

He will get my vote. I decided that when he first announced his candidacy.

They're just silly. One's Leonard Nimoy (Spock) singing about Hobbits with a bunch of cute hippy chicks, and the other is Short People by Randy Newman.

Ron Paul's too extreme to succeed, though I like his positions myself. My impression is that he's an idealist and not so much of a politician.

Why do people need to have 'charisma' to run for the President? And what is wrong with having smaller government and increased personal autonomy? Those goals were abandoned because the two major political parties wanted more power over the goals. I for one would like to get rid of the two party system for that very reason. They want more power and rather have the citizens become slaves to the government.
