When there is a Palestinian state, Arafat will be looked upon by the free Palestinian people as a George Washington-type figure, who spent his entire life fighting for his people to be free. May he rest in peace and may someday, very soon, his people have peace and freedom, too.

Ok, now I'm suspicious.
This from BBC's website...
'A leading Jordanian doctor, Ashraf al-Kurdi, who regularly examined Mr Arafat, and last saw him two weeks ago, has said poisoning was the "highest" possible cause of death, the Associated Press news agency reports.
"One of the causes of platelet deficiency is poison," he said, calling for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. '
Israel seem to think they know he's dead 1 week b4 he actually is. Is this because they may have known something that we didn't, ie: that they had administered enough poison to kill an elephant.
Very, very suspicious. And they don't try to hide their contempt for Arafat either.
"(It is) good that the world is rid of him (Yasser Arafat)... The sun is shining in the Middle East."
Israeli Justice Minister Tommy Lapid
Any thoughts on whether Israel would stoop so low? Doesn't seem beyond them.

If you asked the average person in this WORLD today, not just in any tiny corner of it, who do you think they would say they admired more: George W. Bush or Yasser Arafat?
If you asked the average person in the WORLD today, not just in any tiny corner of it, who has prevented peace between Israel and the Palestinian people who do you think they would say: the Israeli goverment or Yasser Arafat?
I imagine that you would be outraged if a Palestinian expressed joy at an American president dying, but you have no problem with expressing such a shameful emotion at another's man death. You really need to try to put yourself in the shoes of a Palestinian who has lived under occupation for his entire life, who can't go from one town to another without the permission of foreigners and who has been denied what you take for granted - a country of his own to be proud of and to be free in - before you presume to judge the actions of them and their leader.

It is time the definition of terrorism underwent a change. It should apply not only to groups threataning nations due to etnic, relegious reasons but also include countries which terrorise others to further their will.
Originally posted by no1marauderI remember seeing photos in the newspaper, following the September 11 attacks, of Palestinians rejoicing in the streets over the American casualties. Any chance that I would ever be sympathetic toward the Palestinian cause vanished at that moment.

From Dictionary.com: 'The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.'
It is the state controlled media which has turned it into something which only refers to car bombers/suicide bombers. What the u.s. and israel have been doing for years, falls perfectly into that definition.
