I have various problems with her.
The first is her sweeping generalisation of moslims; it's counter-productive, fascist and only serves to create an atmosphere of fear (and my theory on this should be clear by now).

The second is that she used to be left-wing, but joined a right-wing party because she had a better chance of getting elected. This is p ...[text shortened]... at the moment. Needless to say, I hope she dies a horrible and painful and slow death.

🙂
Maybe she realized that you guys on the left are a lofty ideal that she likes the sound of so she joined up, but when she realized that those ideals are empty, she jumped ship.

Yeah...those lofty ideals that opposed:

- Hitler
- Franco
- Stalin
- Poverty
- The Israeli occupation of Lebanon
- Etc.

Empty? Whilst the capitalists and the victims enjoyed initial promises, it has been the "lofty left" which have consistantly opposed these matters.

Empty? I think you'll find that history judges us differently.

She was never interested in anything but power and personal glory.

Nothing has done more to create poverty than socialism.

You're wrong about the occupation. Terrorist tactics will be seen as the disgusting acts they are. Terrorism is looked down at now, and will be even more so in the future. While I think the occupation is bad strategy for Israel both politically, militarily and morally, I also think the Paleos are hurting their cause with terrorism. Lebanon is going to have a hard time getitng seperated from the actions of the Palestinians because of terrorism and proximity. It will be seen as a regional phenomenon in the future also. Even though groups like Hezballah (The biggies in Lebanon) didn't really become a force until after the occupation had begun.

Though some of the things Israel did during the occupation will be looked down at also. Allowing the refugee camps to be slaughtered will not be forgotten.

The interesting part of your list is Stalin, being communist Russia, he's usually considered as far left as Hitler was right. In fairness though Hitlers and Stalins actions should instantly disqualify them from being consider left or right. They are both fine examples of what happens when either side goes so far around the bend that they meet in the backside of the circle.

I gather she left for the USA partly to escape some inconvenient questions about certain lies she told to gain Dutch citizenship.
The death threats probably helped her decision as well.

Yes, there is no left or right in a dictatorship.

"On May 16, Hirsi Ali resigned from Parliament after admitting that she had lied on her asylum application. This is who she works for now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Enterprise_Institute (Phrase of the week: "irrational exuberance"😉

Oh yes, she is interesting. I'm curious to see how her career in the US will develop. She is politically very clever and knows how to push the right buttons and pull the right strings. She sure knows how to go about and win people, including the "top brass", for her cause.

However she needs to get a grip of the diffences between the European forms ...[text shortened]... vision viewer this could sound a bit odd and could cause some to raise an eyebrow ... or two.
The thought that secularism could become more of a prevailing idea sounds great to me.
