Our enemies are innovative and resourceful - and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people - and neither do we.
Everyone makes the odd verbal slip, but this guy, the 'leader of the free world', just can't string a sentence together. An embarrassment to any US citizen with a shred of intelligence.

Yeah, he sure is a cunning linguist.

I heard something a while back that was almost as funny as Bush trying to speak. A die-hard Republican, evangelical-Christian, housewife farmer lady I know said that Bush made these "mistakes" on purpose. It was all part of his clever charisma!

🙂

ridiculous

Leave it to the die-hard Republican evangelical-Christian farmers to put it all in perspective for us.

I've heard a slightly more sensible interpretation, that Bush subconsciously makes these mistakes to distinguish himself from his father, whom he sees as carefully-spoken and tending to use less 'down-to-earth' language.

Is making yourself look like an arse an electoral asset in the US then?

That's a laugh! Don't get me wrong, if anyone talks long enough they will say something stupid... but to think he does it on purpose is anything but sensible.

I think there are far better ways to sound 'down to earth'.

Yeah. It has a 'well thought out' ring to it.

My personal favourite Bushism is: "More and more of our imports are coming from abroad."

It was funny the first time I heard it and it's become even funnier of late as I pondered if the big GW actually meant: "a broad." As in a woman is supplying more and more of his imports.

One really can't tell.

"Don't get me wrong, if anyone talks long enough they will say something stupid... "

If you have a majority of the free press waiting to string those
mistakes together you can even create the persona of stupidity.
Being spoon-feed errors in speech patterns seems like a natural
propaganda tactic consciously or unconsciously to those that
oppose Bush and want to undermine his credibility. Which the
majority of the press admits they do when they declare who they
want to vote for. Buying into it hook line and sinker seems a bit
sheepish to me. The blinders have been put on, and no one wants
to take them off.

Yup, good post.

The only reason I voted Gore was I feared what Bush was going to do with the environment!

Who would have known about the pending wars?! Either way... Gore could have done just as bad... but it was Bush who was elected.

Gore has also said a ton of dumb stuff, I am sure. It must be the job of the media to make politicians look stupid?
