Sanders is an imperialist who has shown he is for more of the same foreign policy of government overthrow.

I predict Cortez will be his running mate. She isn't getting all of this media attention for nothing.

This is a picture perfect example of the BS lies and false witness that Russian trolls and Bots post on facebook and twitter to influence our elections. I'm with Suzanne on this. So Bernie wants the people of Venezuela to get the humanitarian aid that they desperately need; oh what an imperialistic threat huh? lol Let's all remember who it is that is really threatening military action in Venezuela; Trump and republicans mostly. It sure is not Bernie. "Roger Waters from Pink Floyd"? lol Saw him in 1986, the wall concert. LOL great concert" BTW, Russia today is state run from the Russian government. duh! Get a clue fool; or are you a Russian troll working this forum also?
I predict Cortez will be his running mate.

seems the situation is more complex.

Venezuela WAS and IS getting humanitarian aid. Seems that this is US trying to give "humanitarian aid" which is anything but, to support a regime change.

At the moment, we can't discuss much on the subject. Sanders should be clarifying his tweet and what he meant about it, if he supports Trump's intervention (he shouldn't). What is clear is that the Us has been sanctioning Venezuela for a long time now, that Trump repeatedly stated the US should get in and take their oil and that ANY intervention by the US (at the very least during the remaining 2 years of trump's mandate) in foreign affairs should be highly scrutinized.

Are you serious? Here's the tweet:

The people of Venezuela are enduring a serious humanitarian crisis. The Maduro government must put the needs of its people first, allow humanitarian aid into the country, and refrain from violence against protesters.

What is objectionable in any of that? "Imperialist"?

BTW, AOC is too young to be President and thus ineligible to run for Vice-President.

On Thursday, he said this:

"I think the United States has got to work with the international community to make sure that there is a free and fair election in Venezuela," Sanders said. However, he added, the U.S. "must not use military force and intervene again as it has done in the past in Latin America… whether it was Chile or Brazil or the Dominican Republic or Guatemala. The United States has a very bad record of intervening in Latin American countries and that must not happen again. The future of Venezuela must be left to the Venezuelan people."

it comes right after the US trying to give "humanitarian aid" to a country they threatened to invade for their oil, in which they supported a rival to the regime, a country the US has imposed numerous sanctions on.

Until we know exactly what this humanitarian aid means, bernie's tweet can be interpreted as supporting Trump intervening in Venezuela.

Like i said, more info needed.

No, it can't. He has repeatedly condemned military interventions and did so regarding the possibility of one in Venezuela a few days ago.

I am well aware that Russia Today has been accused of trying to influence elections. It is a completely ridiculous claim. There are lots of biased news sources that do the same thing. Don't you think Brietbart News is trying to influence elections? Your assertion that normal is not normal because it is a foreign country doing it is silly.

Are you questioning the accuracy of the RT article I posted? If not get over it.

Are you serious? Why do you think there is a humanitarian crisis in the first place? Sanctions imposed by our government are a major factor. Then there is Venezuela's gold stolen by the British. Not sure why he trusted them in the first place. They work with the USA to overthrow countries. Then there is the debt Venezuela has to repay in US dollars.
I once heard about tanker ships with Venezuelan oil off the US coast not being allowed to port and sell the oil. If Trump really cares about the economy why all of this economic warfare against Venezuela?
Sanders should be condemning the Sanctions and the oil blockade if he really wants to help the poor in that country. Don't you think DJT pressured the Saudi Kingdom to increase oil production to lower prices to hurt 3 countries (with US sanctions imposed) in particular? It is literally a conspiracy to squeeze Venezuela, Iran and Russia.

Sanders is not trying to help the Venezuelan people. Jimmy Carter should tell Sanders that the elections in Venezuela are the best in the world. Sanders is lying about the election process there.

I think you are hysterically exaggerating and reading into Sanders things he didn't say and doesn't believe.

He's getting a bunch of crap for not saying Maduro is a dictator!https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/21/bernie-sanders-venezuela-maduro-1179636

Y’all going to waste two years of typing time writing about Bernie Sanders? It is ad nauseum what he wants. We get it. It can all be boiled down just today, that he chats about maduro but never does condemn him. Why? Because it would defeat his socialism progressiveness Voila, he is a socialist! Whew. I will bet anyone here $1000 That Trump will in 2020. At least it will bring some interest into constant rehashing of what socialists want.

I agree 100% with what No1 says, and it's 100% factual; especially about Bernie and what he said. People are reading into things and assuming things that clearly are not there. It's Trump and the Republicans that want to get in there and get their oil, not Bernie.

Sure he did, but that doesn't mean anything. Remember our debate about Sanders condoning bombing Syria? I know you do not want to accept that either, but it is true. Didn't Trump condemn military interventions before becoming POTUS?
