@no1marauder saidDemocrats control congress.
Biden is President, not Supreme Dictator; he can't unilaterally end Trump's tax cuts.
Biden's proposed legislation would increase the top rate for individuals, raise the corporate tax rate and make capital gains for those making over $1 million taxable at the same rate as other income. All are directly repeals of features of the 2017 tax cuts. https://www.cbsnews.com/n ...[text shortened]... -rich/
Could you tell me how many Republicans in political office support any of those proposals?
Stop making up lame excuses for your own party being in the pockets of the wealthy. Biden is continuing trump's policies and democrats in congress are going along with it.
We live in a plutocracy. They control both major political parties. Voting democrat changes nothing. If voting made any difference they would outlaw it. They allow you to vote because you vote for who they want you to. Biden is just a different figurehead. Nothing really changed. All you got that is different is a less bombastic figurehead, that is all.
Our country is ruled by wealthy people. We live in a plutocracy. Stop fooling yourself. Biden will not ban fracking. He opened the arctic to more oil drilling. He is a corporate tool. He looks a lot like a republican if you look closely.
Proposals mean nothing unless they follow through and implement them. Why can't democrats stick together to get their proposals accomplished? It is because the parasitic elites control the democrats as well as the republicans. Why else would the Democrats CAVE & Fast Track Trump’s Judges when he was president?

@no1marauder saidIts been 10,000 for years, quit shyt weaseling.
(Shrug) A House proposal would have applied the law to accounts with $10,000 or more. Is that acceptable to right wingers?
The subject here is the brandon administration, they are proposing $600
@mott-the-hoople saidWhen you say brandon are you referring to this?

Cash payments over $10,000 have to be reported, not total deposits and withdrawals accounts. https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/irs-form-8300-reference-guide#:~:text=The%20law%20requires%20that%20trades,a%20Trade%20or%20Business%20PDF.

I'm not falling for it anymore; a 2nd Trump administration with Republicans in control of both Houses would enact policies far different from what most Democrats support. Anyone who says differently is a fool.
@no1marauder saidYou heard the truth a million times and you keep going back to partisan bias which is a temporary mental illness. Democrats keep ignoring Trump's real abuse of power.

There isn't much difference between democrats and republicans. Democrats seem to hate socialists more, not that I think most of them even know what socialism is. You are one of the few democrats that know.
Democrats are just moderate republicans, but only with their proposals. They never fight for them. Their inaction says a lot. Most democrats are the tools of plutocrats. You know they are.

@no1marauder saidA bit picky, Marauder, don’t you think? Why don’t you address the new $600. You are ducking. Quite obvious.

@averagejoe1 saidBecause you guys are liars or idiots. I ask Mott a question whether he would support a $10,000 rather than $600 limit as proposed in the House and he stupidly thought that was the law now. How can anybody reasonably debate such ignorance?

So I'll ask you; is it really the $600 limit that bothers you? Would you support the bill if the limit was higher? Or do you just object to catching tax cheats in general?
@no1marauder said$10,000 cash transactions are already flagged under the Patriot Act. Isn't that good enough to catch tax cheats? Why do you want a Patriot Act for the IRS?

People might just keep the cash somewhere else instead of in the banks. That isn't exactly good for banks. Cash doesn't need a bank. Cash is the choice of tax cheats, right?
@metal-brain saidI'm in favor of catching tax cheats. I'm not wedded to any particular limit on what accounts should reveal their outgoing and incoming transactions however.

Obviously the IRS is understaffed now as compared to 10 years ago when they made many more audits per tax return. The Biden plan addresses that.
Contrary to your belief, it appears many people use bank accounts and don't report their income:
"The Treasury estimates that only about 50% of business income is reported, in contrast with employment income, where there's near-perfect compliance."
"While the ultra-wealthy have an array of tools at their disposal to avoid taxation — including trusts, limited liability corporations and partnerships that can cloak payouts — most of them do interact with the banking system.
Said Martin Davidoff, "I have people with entire businesses they don't report at all, and they just put it in their personal bank account."
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/treasury-proposal-to-report-bank-information-600/
@no1marauder saidAll that will do is cause less people interact with the banking system and banks will have less reserves. If you really want to curb tax cheating you would want to end anonymous shell companies and trusts.

The parasitic elites don't want that to happen. They like hiding their money so you don't know how wealthy they are. The Rockefeller family has a lot more money than people think. They just have it hidden so you don't know about it. They don't pay income tax. Taxes are for everyone else to pay. They invented tax shelters like trusts.
The parasitic elites just want their surfs to pay taxes to them while they pay none. They run government so they collect taxes. They don't pay them anymore than a king pays taxes.
@mott-the-hoople saidStop lying. Trump lied every day, so you figure it's okay for you too?
the only email doctored was by an fbi agent, and they let him off with a slap on the wrist.

Why does everyone think it is suddenly cool to lie?
Because Trump got away with it?
This is becoming so prevalent that even some examples of the 'Vox Populi' are lies, at least in America.
