Biden Ends Al Queda Leadership

The GOP started it, Biden ends it.
Trump could have done this but, according to this article,
he was ignorant as to the importance of this terrorist.
Hard to believe #45 was commander-in-chief.

Obama should have ended Afghanistan after killing Bin-Laden since his campaign promise was to bring troops home. Instead, he spends the next several years killing civilians in drone strikes.

Biden's pull out was disastrous and needlessly chaotic, resulting in immediate deaths with no escape or warning left for Afghanis. The ordeal was shameful. That said, unlike Trump, Biden had the balls to pull out.

I agree with one caveat, we never should
have been in Iraq in the first place.
......What's distressing to me are the people locked in Gitmo,
will likely die there, never having been charged,
most have never been before a judge....
Obama, tried to bring them onto U.S. soil,
to charge them properly, but The GOP shot that down.
..........The reason they will never be formally charged is
because they were tortured to obtain, so-called, confessions.
War crimes, actually.

how big do your balls need to be to lie the Afghanistan people that were on our side?

And leave them to be slaughtered by the taliban.

The drawdown was progressing well, conditions were being adhered to, then biden just pulls out leaving innocent people to die. fuk you and your “balls”!

We did better in Afghanistan than we did in Vietnam.
That was a worse mess.....
In both cases, of history repeating, we expected the
armies that we trained and supplied, to stand up better,
if not indefinitely. Same thing I always say, the people will
get the government they deserve/want. Our way isn't the best
way for every country in the world.
The guy we wanted to win the election didn't......Average people want law and order and the buses to run on time and The Taliban make this happen. ............Sadly, looks like for now, human rights, especially women's, be damned.

These are silly lies; Biden actually extended the time of the withdrawal past Trump's May 1 deadline.

There clearly was hardly any will among the Afghans to fight for the puppet government.

Watching the news and apparently Bin Laden's right hand man was just taken out 🤔

I still maintain that the whole fiasco started when Trump reduced the troop count on Dec 7, 2020.
The intent was not just to end the occupation but rather to throw the new administration under the bus.

Having lost the election, he should have just let Biden take over.
Or at least transition the process.
Problem was that Trump didn't want a transition.

Ideally, the troops should have come out when the assets (US, Afghans and international) were safely out.
Dec 7 sent a green light to the Taliban.
And the fiasco happened because there weren't enough troops left.
That belongs to Trump.

Why were several of you , esp Marauder with his legal thesis, filled with rage when Trump took out Slolomani , but you are so happy with this action by Biden's people? (Not Biden, he did nothing. But, hey, I think Trump pushed the Botton the Sololoami drone!)
Fess up boys, take your medicine. There is no difference.

Slolomani wasn't the head of a terrorist organization.
No matter that we don't get along with Iran,
he was a legitimate Iranian Government official.
.............hello?..........anyone home?

It's Soleimani. Never trust what right-wingers say.

Learned that from Suzi.

In historical retrospect, the withdrawal will be seen as a success. Something like 125,000 people were evacuated in a little over two weeks; the thousands of Americans left behind to become hostages right wingers assured us existed turned out to be figment of their imagination.

Some lives were unfortunately lost, but far more would have been sacrificed if this pointless occupation would have been extended for even a few more months. It is unfortunate that a group like the Taliban emerged victorious, but 20 years of US intervention did not succeed in convincing Afghans that they should fight against that result as witnessed by the quick collapse of government forces.

Biden made a wise and politically courageous call.

Ha, ha,................Thanks, 😆

Isn't this the same al-Zawahiri who died from asthma a couple of years ago?

Gee, who to believe? It's not like US intelligence community would ever lie to the American people!
