To a large extent. Despite some economic downturns, the USA grew and thrived as a nation for over 200 years, from 1776 through the fall of the U.S.S.R. The USA has a long history of adapting to a changing world, and does not need to be the only superpower on earth.

As Alan Alda's West Wing character once said in a great debate episode, you don't have to fight for resources. You just have to pay for them.
Trade deficits and job outsourcing are certainly important economic issues, but:
1. It's not clear those things are necessarily bad; and
2. To the extent they are, they can be fixed by policy
The global economy is not a zero sum game; policies can benefit both the US and China.

the qustion that begs to be asked...what do you expect from biden? he an idiot!
@chessturd saidNo, I'm pretty sure he touches everyone, it just seems like he prefers girls.
Biden touches little girls.
It's like my dog, he prefers to hump certain legs but at the end of the day he will take what is available.
But it's all normal you see.

@kevcvs57 saidYou on SOROSs payroll?
i take it we’ve given up on the dream of a world where there are no superpowers. Where individuals and businesses trade under a globally accepted set of rules, in a war of any kind the poor suffer disproportionately and that is true of nations as well as people.

The post that was quoted here has been removedThe question is: Once having tasted close to absolute power, can the USA learn
to be satisfied with less? Can the genie be put back into the bottle?
The short answer is "yes" and the reason for this is because the rock in space we call earth is not big enough for 2 superpowers that have the weaponry of America to go to war, if they did, there would be no life left on earth at all. The Mutually Assured Destruction or MAD scenario that existed during America's cold war with the USSR would exist with China as well. Introducing 1, 2 or even 3 new superpowers into the mix would not change this.
