I have been around and helped take care of several elderly relatives that succumbed to the mental decline we all must face if we live long enough.
Mixing up numbers to the point of absurdity is a common symptom of such, and Biden has been doing it for a few years.....if not more

The problem is that for your kind, "making a joke" can only equal "mocking the less fortunate". Biden lightly taking the mickey out of himself, and of you, doesn't fall into that nasty pattern, and therefore, you cannot see it as a joke. But it is.
To you, "har har Joe Biden is old and stupid and all libtards are too stupid to see it har har har" is a joke, and Joe Biden making a subtle reference to your complaints about his age is not. To the rest of the world, it's the other way around.
