@averagejoe1 saidDo folks really care?
I’m too new to be creating thread, but I’m taking odds on this one. I bet there will be no such chant. Place your bets!
Then, we can discuss...’Why not?’

@very-rusty saidWell, care may not be the appropriate word. Since this is a polarized group, this is more of a study at bringing to the fore the nature of the opposing (dem:repub) factions here. Trump supporters are wild about that which the chant inspires, but do libs have this patriotic running through their veins. But then, I will be quiet, so as not to taint the votes.

The dupes at Trump rallies should consider whether a true patriot would obstruct a legal investigation of a foreign military trying to interfere with our elections by theft and fraud.
@averagejoe1 saidI think chanting the name of one's own country in public resides in the domain of the terminally dumb !!

@no1marauder saidWell then, as soon as Dims run out of refuges I reckon you will hear it.

Because like national flags patriotism has been stolen by the Right.
I remember waving the flag of St George alongside the Union flag at ERII's
silver jubilee but I would not do it today. The English flag has been tainted.
Keep your chants, cap-wearing, flag-waving and pin-waering for sports events.
@averagejoe1 saidBecause chanting “USA” or ‘The Netherlands’ or any other country’s name during a political speech is bloody pathetic.

I know nazis chanted ‘seig heil’ during their events and I’m sure people shout ‘Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce’ during E-Street band shows... but other than rock concerts and extreme nationalist gatherings, chanting is rather dumb.
Well, there’s Gregorian chanting. Damn it. That’s just rock and roll.

@averagejoe1 saidChanting USA at a sporting opponent and their fans makes sense in that context and the three letters make it easy to chant /shout at top volume, but shouting it at yourself in a purely domestic setting doesn’t really make any sense at all, it’s like talking to yourself, it’s ok but not to get caught doing it too often.
