Possibly, though I suspect the result of any such referendum in Scotland will be the same as last time. (And will lead to Sturgeon stepping down as leader of the SNP).

I think that the UK will have to do a better job of selling the UK than the EU did of selling the EU.
Turbulence ahead.

I think the majority of Scots (though not an overwhelming majority) will begrudgingly vote to remain in the UK for self-preservation. Scotland would not do well on its own.

They said that about the UK leaving the EU.
I see a parallel between UK leaving EU and Scotland leaving UK.
There is no finality in completing Brexit. The fun has just started.
That being said, from what I’ve heard, there are huge sighs of relief in post election UK.
The ball has landed on one side of the fence.
Moving forward can now commence.

Canada did well on its own. Australia did well on its own. I'm sure both would welcome a newly independent Scotland with open arms, like long-lost cousins.

Who are 'they'?

Scotland has already had a referendum and voted to remain in the UK. Not enough has changed to reverse that. (Even If they left the UK they would still be out of the EU).

If by referendum Scotland decided it's need to remain part of the EU was greater than it's need to be part of the UK, would the process of independence for Scotland be as complicated as the UK leaving the EU?

Would this signal the demise of the Royal Family?

Nothing is as complicated as the UK leaving the EU.

😲

(An independent Scotland would though be wandering in the wilderness for a number of years and would struggle to rejoin the EU and meet the required criteria).
