STANG was recently banned from making posts in the forums after
creating the “God bless America !!!” thread.
His posting rights were due to return by 21st October 2005. However,
these have now been extended to 1 November 2005 and without any
explanation.
This was part of a message I received from him. We live in a world of
democracy and freedom of speech.

STANG is a paying member and entitled to post his thoughts. I have read
much worst and offensive threads from posters here that haven’t been
treated in the same fashion. This is Not fair. At least I request that
STANG be informed of what “crimes” he committed that called for the
extension of his unlawful ban.
I object against such act. We come here to play chess and enjoy the
debates. I love this site and support it, as much as the next subscriber,
if not more.
I ask you kindly to show your support for freedom of speech by voting in
this thread. I will then contact RHP admin to try and resolve this issue.
Please vote YES to end STANG’s ban.

His repetitiveness is annoying. I vote to have him back, but I would like to see a provision that no post is repeated apart from with a link to his initial point.

I have fought this war once before Peachy and it seems inconsistent moderation is par for the course here at RHP. I have learned to live with it becasue in almost all other respects it is a fine place to play chess, have a debate or have a laugh.
There is a message in a thread not far from this one containing a particularly vulgar expletive which has not been moderated and the user has not been banned. Which is fine, I'm not in favor of moderation to tell the truth but i would like to see it be consistent if it is going to exist at all.
Does anyone know what Stang did to get himself banned? Aside from being completely annoying as usual? 😉
This is also another problem, Peachy, we often don't know all the details of these things. Maybe Stang called the wrong person a lilly livered sack of putresence...who knows?

By the way, about that expletive, I admit it. In the homosexual adoption thread I called the Skipper a 'smelly face'. It was in the heat of the debate, and I lost the run of myself. I cast myself upon your mercy.

I'm not choosing sides here, just saying that STANG skates on thin ice a lot with the mods. Looks like he finally fell through.

repeat his posts, then that’s fair enough. I will speak to him and give
him this feedback. I am sure many have tried already to tell him that,
and I don’t guarantee I’ll be able to convince him to stop, but.. you
never know.. he might.

I don't know Stang nor am I familiar with his many posts. I have read a few of his comments and feel he has every right to voice them just as much as everyone else does here. Debates often get heated and many people are found to be repeating themselves frequently. I'm very much of the opinion that if you don't like what a user has to say, if you know it's the same old repetative BS, then pass it by. Pay no attention to it and move on with your daily trolling of forums. I don't see the big deal here with stang. He says nothing that offends nor intrigues me personally but I respect him for sticking by his convictions despite the unfavorable results it seems to have given him.
Too much spam. In a perfect world we'd bring back gladiator sports and/or throw spammers of all sorts into an arena with many wild animals. At least push the ban until 06. Maybe he might, through some magical process, spontaneously develop a capacity to argue ... perhaps develop a sense for quality over quantity. Let him ferment; better than being gored and eaten by grizzly bears.

He messaged me about his ban. I told him that I was glad he was banned. I meant it.
STANG consistantly disobeyed the mods when they asked him to stop the repetitive posting. This, in my eyes, is even worse than the spamming itself. If you ignore what the mods tell you then you earn every minute of ban you get.
I hope when STANG's ban is up he returns and no one notices because he doesn't start with the stupidity again. Past behaviour doesn't make this likely however.
