After Watching Al Gore's movie,I was struck by how bright, inquisitive, curious and thoughtful Gore is. I got sick to my stomach that we are stuck with Bush, a total moron, with no intellectual curiousity, not appreciation for learning, no inkling of the principles of science, and no sense of the future. (Bush thinks you can prevent pregnacy by not using condoms!)

Just shows how bad Bush is, if he makes Gore seem thoughtful.

Too bad that Gore didn't run for the presidency.

The downside of universal sufferage. People one wouldn't trust with the job of cleaning dog poop from the sidewalks are allowed to vote. Gore and Kerry... the Democrats should have picked someone at random, or better yet, backed Liberman.

Remember that a MOVIE is one of the most effective propaganda tools in existence.

It can make great people look stupid and stupid people seem great.

Personnally, I regard any movie or documentary with caution unless, when compared with another credible source distinct from the first, coming to a similar conclusion.

I suppose the acid test would be to see if a movie could make bush bright and inquisitive! 🙂 🙂

Already done. "

Celcius 41.11" Actually makes many good points.

I would also imagine that the Gore movie makes some good points as well.

I wonder what Khadaffi movies in his country are like. Or Argentina's number one...et al. All probably the same with regard to making leaders look good. And why not? Its the way of it.

Big difference is that in the west we can make our leaders look bad as well.

Won't find that ability in every country!

One of the segments I like in this movie/documentary is the explanation for the Florida votes.

Simply put, Florida covers TWO time zones and the "early results" which were hastily reported by many television networks came from the western part of Florida. When the rest of the votes came in an hour later for the eastern part of Florida of course it seemed like the count had changed when in reality it was the fault of overzealous network television reporting. Of course the damage was done and the democratic party simply had to run with a "fixed election story" rather than admit the error on the part of the networks.

You decide for yourself.

By the way, I'm not Republican or Democrat.

It does not matter to me what my President's party is, I support him...or her - perhaps in the future we'll have a female President, who knows.

As for voting, I'll vote the issue or person, each on its own merit as I see it. Simply voting my conscience.

By "support him" what do you mean? You can't support him on every issue and at the same time claim to not care whether he is democrat or republican? I'll admit there are issues where both parties have only slightly dissimiliar views, but still there are other issue where their positions are far apart.

For example - I'm a democrat (sadly my only other choise). But I've yet to meet a democratic politician that I agreed with on every subject. It's not even close.

Yes, as I've stated on another thread...I don't agree with every position each President of head of state takes with regard to an issue. I don't think anybody could simply and blindly follow a nation's leadership in that manner. I'm not sure if it's even possible but I know it's not possible for me.

Answering your question regarding my not caring about democrat or republican...what I mean here is that if a President is elected whom I did not vote for, I'll still support and respect him (or her) in the office of the Presidency of the United States. Again, I don't have to agree with all of the policies of any administration in order to continue to be patriotic toward my country with respect for whoever my President happens to be.

The American people (overall) are mostly good people - as are most people in any other country in the world. The "bad people" are still the minority in the world. Although at times it can seem like it's not true (as in a world war perhaps) since the actions of "bad people" tend to take up much of the time and attention of every nation's media. So their exposure goes up but this is actually very disproportionate to the billions of "good people" in the world simply going about their every day tasks - farming, firefighting, educators, scientists, chess players, religious devotees (who are not obsessed with taking lives to make their point), etc. etc. etc.
