So, you're saying that privately insuring yourself is better for your health than a public health system (of sorts) like they have in Europe?

Is that what you mean to say here?

The US has had less unemployment than Europe, generally.

As for the rest, if customers want to pay for "way of life" and "sense of community" and "family business" then they will. That's also part of freedom of choice.

It is the same story with the family farm. It is romanticized -- but it was very hard work -- most people today would not voluntar ...[text shortened]... DO have the right to DO what you want.

No--I'd say I do have the right to numbers 1,3,and 4 of your list.

i don't suppose you watched sicko, right? well i will assume you didn't because it is made by that pinko hippie moore. what happens if, like that black woman's whose child had died because doctors at the nearest hospital wouldn't treat her because her health care was for other hospitals, you find yourself with a stroke and too far from your hospital? how about the canadian who went on vacation in hawaii, got a head injury and after staying in the hospital he had a bill of 600 000$? i for one would rather gather my splattered brain, put it back in, bandage myself with a torn t-shirt and rush to the airport for a flight home if was him.

don't you find any merit in a system that doesn't condition saving your life by you having the money or not? that makes people pay for their health care when they are healthy in the form of taxes instead of paying it when they are dying?

You understand "Sicko" is propaganda, right? It's not a documentary. If it were, then how come fat, morbidly obese Michael Moore doesn't interview anyone who is dissatisfied with government-controlled health care in his little movie?

Moore was careful not to show the state of Cuban hospitals for the regular folks, only the ones big wigs go to. Youtube has a bunch of the fly infested crapholes on video if you want to look them up.
