That an incompetent buffoon like Donald Trump even got near the White House other than as a touring visitor is certainly lamentable. But it had very little to do with racism.

The right saw him as their White Savior -- the Great White Hope. Probably another backlash -- having a competent black guy in the WH for the previous eight years drove most of them insane. But Trump took that and ran with it all the way to the bank, and with Project 2025 helping light his way this term, he was committed to breaking up DEI and every other white grievance (immigration) they had festering.
