Lori Lightfoot, the first Black woman and the first openly gay person ever to serve as mayor of Chicago, on Tuesday became a one-term mayor.

She was pugnacious and alienated all the allies she needed to pass legislation. Nothing to do with being Black or lesbian; she just doesn’t know how politics works. Thought she could just ram things down people’s throats. Sorta like Trumpty Dumpty.

What amazes me, moonbus, is that she is a former prosecutor yet she let crime flourish in her tenure. Go figure.,

Municipalities with high crime in recent years don't jump to correct the situation, but here, the people did. Quite surprising

She ran on get tough on crime ticket, but failed to deliver. She hired a police chief from out of state, who turned out to be very unpopular with Chicagoans. Apparently he did not understand the local situation or get on well with the rest of the political structure in Chicago.
