Growing up in poverty and the effect on political views in adulthood.
It's interesting to me that it can have different effects on people.
I'm thinking about Trumpys' new 2nd, DJ Vance. And, comparing his political view to that of Lyndon B. Johnson.
Both grew up in poverty, one thinks he got out all by himself because his granny spurred him on and that has led to Republican views. I guess he thinks if he can get himself out, then anyone can and everyone should. And the other saw the benefit in equalising society.
They both worked hard to get the success they enjoy/ed.
Maybe it's a different level of empathy?
@yo-its-me saidMaybe a bit off subject, but DEI ( the 'equality' you speak of ) almost got Trump killed. They required a woman.......a woman .....to head up the rough and tumble Secret Service. Like when Clyburn forced Biden to get a black woman VP. These 2 women are a huge part of our problems. So, they found this woman, who may have been getting her hair done that evening.

Trump will not do that crap. I am sure some of you faeries are upset that he got a white man as VP. I would have too. So watch these two men go, just watch. No bitchiness will exist between them.
PS: Our secretary of defense a black was the most qualified? Left for a hospital serious procedure and did not tell any one. And Biden has a tran in there and I think the sec of health is a trans, Rachel Lavine.
Think about it.....a rainbow. Sickening. Biden almost got Trump killed with DEI. Somebody start a thread. I don't understand it, so cannot do a thread.

@yo-its-me saidAnd there were "very fine people, on both sides."

@Cliff-Mashburn saidYou think it was all about votes then?
LBJ saw the benefit of equalizing society?
He saw the benefit of buying votes from a certain block of people.
Did you know that when he proposed his "War on Poverty" he told an associate "I'll have those (censored) voting Democrat for the next 200 years!"
I like to believe people care. Maybe that's nieve(?)
It's interesting non-the-less that the same struggle in people's childhoods can have opposite effects in their logic in adulthood.
@Suzianne saidI don't know about that.

Or are you quoting one of the politicians in the States? I'm in the UK- we get the funny bits in our news tbh, the headlines that make us ever so glad we don't live in gun roulette country.

@yo-its-me saidThis might help you rationalize. I am on one side, and Sue is on another. Each of us could be fine people. So , fine people on both sides. Mother Theresa and Ronald Reagan were fine people.
I don't know about that.

@yo-its-me saidIt's a Trump quote that your post reminded me of, that's all.

@Mott-The-Hoople saidI'm racist? You are the one always being "loud and proud" that there are differences between black and white. You are the same people calling every black person in government a "DEI hire".
here is your racist folks…pitiful scum

@Suzianne saidI do not know what this means. You might brush up on facetious and glib. It is easier to say things straight out, and for readers to understand what you say, if you say things straight out.
And David Duke and Adolph Hitler were not.
I don't know what this means. And please don't come back personal. It would be easier to say what you mean. ooops, I am being redundant.

I can't be any more clear.
