@Duchess64 - But if the USA insists upon an all-out economic war, China will turn elsewhere to buy food.
And if that fails, the Chinese people will tighten their belts.
Duchess, Trump brow-beat Xi into accepting more American agricultural goods.
They don't really need US agricultural goods.

1/ Q I hope that Australia and China can negotiate their differences.
A So do I.

2/ Q But if Australia wants to join the USA's war on China, China's ready for it.
A The way I see is it is not so much a " war " on China as a "war" on the CCP that has constantly bullied everyone and we have been complacent in bowing down to their whims. scared to back down. Its like we are it a pot of water slowly being boiled and to stupid to see it. This corona virus has opened the eyes to many that were to blind to see it.
. We are finally fighting back, Not starting a war.

Q Are most Australians today proud of fighting for the USA's losing war in Vietnam?
A I suspect not, relevance??
The post that was quoted here has been removedI wholeheartedly agree with your 1st statement
But the 2nd ? Vietnam was an error, though that has no relevance to this. Australia is NOT blindly following, it is eyes wide open and for myself, it is Loooong overdue. For many years I have bemoaned the fact that we are becoming more and more dependent on china. It started well over 20yrs ago.

Not once did I dispute the "Blindly" regarding the Vietnam war.
OK, in English I said " Vietnam " was " an error, and " Australia is NOT blindly following "( re current events ), " is " in the context of " current "
And I am not blaming China per-say for the Australian Government moving closer, I blame the Australian Government. China has in fact been smart, our governments, stupid. I feel that America, through Trump, is waking up to this fact. As are the Australian people.
And lastly, both labor and liberal, though labor much more so, seem to have this delusion that it is in our best interests. One is compelled to vote for one nation or Jackie lambie or other " if " they truly want to be heard.
