How is that historic? There are many lgbt people in China.

Is China going to recognize a gay marriage?

Duchess again misses the point. It is like she thinks we should naturally agree with this crap,....ha,, I just used the word natural, which this whole thing is NOT.
Duchess, some of us do NOT agree, and therefore, though you think it is cool to announce, so as to not upset homophobic people, homophobic people are equally upset no matter when the big news comes out. So, that is logically not her reason.
Look, even if you’re stuck in a closet, how the hell can you oppose woman on woman action?

Mhmmm… nude tennis, tequila, some scissoring and a pancake.

What more does your hand-on-cock need at 4am?

Duchess does have one thing on us. They (slave labor?) have built the largest Navy in the world, while the USA focuses on color, gender and being offennnnnndded.

So the answer is no, China does not recognize gay marriage. Obviously there will be no marriage by Chinese standards, just a kind of domestic relationship.

I wonder why the word marriage must be applied to a union that is not actually marriage.

Ying Lee’s sex life declaration, the thread subject, certainly opens the door for my question. So, given that, if a person announces their gaiety at a dinner, and is applauded for being honest, am I being dishonest if I don’t announce my sexual preference.?

Why do libs have problems with straight questions?
News flash: Social interactions is not a zero-sum game.

This the 2nd time that you say she is 'announcing her engagement". Seems to me that she is announcing that she is a lesbian,,,,,marriage naturally comes after that. I don't know why she has to 'announce to the world' what here sexual preference is, which is what she is really doing.
Because it triggers snowflakes like you, is why.

Why do libs say ' threatened' all the time, like they say offfeeeennnnnnnded, and other weenie-words? And the 'phobic' words.

As to living freely, it is difficult, with the in-your-face approach of all these people. Her announcement is in my face, what if my daughter heard it on the TV? Why do we now have to shield our families from this surreal unhealthy movement going on?
Give your daughter some credit.

This isn't something you have to 'protect' her from. It's not a disease. You can't 'catch' it.

@Duchess64

You said "Li Ying ( 李影 ), a Chinese woman football (soccer) player, has officially
declared that she's a lesbian, who's engaged to marry another woman"

Obviously you were not exactly accurate in your statement. Glad to see you now admit that she is not getting married, but simply a legal relationship which many other chinese people have entered. Hardly historic. The first coulple to do this was actually historic.
