The only way this is called historic is to say this is the first famous person, which can be used to advertise such civil unions in China.

Calling it a marriage instead of its proper term, civil union, makes it look like China recognizes gay marriage, but it does not.

I saw the description of gay unions in China while researching this topic. It is why I asked if China allowed for gay marriage. I knew it did not.

It allows for civil unions, but not marriage.

The first famous person in China. It's old hat in the Netherlands and even the UK. I certainly will not berate China for being ambivalent about this - it certainly is better than the reaction would be in Chad or Tennessee - but it's hardly anything to crow about.

While y’all rail on about sex and color and gender and trans-world, the rest of China has built the largest Navy in the world, the NSA is surveilling any and everyone, the border is breached, and you just quibble along. Could you join the military and do more good there? Or maybe start some important threads.
