@shavixmir saidIt's the petroleum cartel buying decisions by the USA government (and others, but mainly the USA), sending thousands to their deaths for profit.
It’s not organised crime.
It’s decision making, when weighing up the options, leading to crimes against humanity.
There is a difference.
Wasn’t it Colin Powell at the UN who once said: “There is always collatoral damage.” ?
Powell should have been arrested anyhoos.
Yes, it is organised crime. Bribery and corruption are crimes, as is mass murder, even that of foreign civilians; and it's quite organised.
@shavixmir saidYou already admitted it is a crime. It is the first word in your sentence.
Uh. No.
Organised crime is organised crime.
And crimes against humanity is crimes against humanity.
It's not really rocket science, it's in the term itself.
Perhaps look up a dictionary or something for once.
Is it organized? Yep! All wars and blockades are organized.
It is organized crime.....moron!
@metal-brain saidSigh.

Organised crime refers to maffia, syndicates, etc. where instead of criminals working independently, they work as part of a network; extortion, stealing, drugs, etc.
If I organise a street party and someone dies of a drug overdose, it’s not organised crime.
Just because countries organise wars and that crimes happen during these wars doesn’t make it organised crime.
The Nuremberg trials did not call the holocaust organised crime. They called it crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Completely different kettle of fish.
@shavixmir saidEmpires are organized crime at the highest levels.
Sigh.

Organized crime is not confined to the Mafia or whatever you think the Mafia is. That is merely a perception influenced by Hollywood. There are lots of different forms of organized crime. I could argue that GHW Bush pardoning Caspar Weinberger was part of organized crime.
Iran/Contra was organized crime.

Your right though Iran / Contra was a crime and obviously somebody had to organise stuff in order to commit that crime, just as the killing of the Saudi journalist was a crime organised by the principle Saudi royal but it definitely wasn’t in part of ‘Organised Crime’.
P.s tolerating a crime by a foreign government for reasons of diplomatic and economic expediency is not ‘condoning the crime’.
I think one of your main problems is that your English instructor has failed to equip you with the nuance necessary to actually communicate effectively In the English language.
@kevcvs57 saidIn other words, you cannot prove what you say.

It is the extremely weak "everybody knows that" argument to evade proving anything.
@shavixmir saidLeave out the word "mafia" (not the Dutch misspelling *maffia), and (only then) you're right.

The oil cartel is organised, they're criminals, and they're a syndicate. This has been proven again and again and again, from Rockefeller right up to the Koch brothers.
Pretending that this isn't organised crime is on exactly the same level as claiming that Trump isn't a repeated bankrupt because "technically" it was his companies that went broke, not he personally.
It's criminal; it's organised; it's organised crime. And it needs to be stopped.

On 23 April 1999, a NATO missile attack on Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) headquarters killed 16 employees of the state broadcaster.
The forgotten war crime occurred during the Kosovo War (March 1999-June 1999), and was part of NATO’s aerial campaign alongside the US-backed Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) a paramilitary entity with links to Al Qaeda and organized crime, in opposition to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
In the aftermath of the attack there were no great public campaigns launched for the 16 murdered journalists and employees, no outpouring of emotion for those killed, no calls for solidarity and togetherness in the face of aggression. On the contrary the West justified this grievous blow against freedom of expression, praised it even.

Iran/Contra was organized crime. It armed Iran at the same time we were arming Iraq during the Iran/Iraq war. The USA armed both sides of that war that killed over 1 million people.
...but they care about you so take the genetic vaccine.
@metal-brain saidI thought the Kremlin was killing children in Syria? I’m sure it’s the allies of the US that are killing children in the Yemen.
That reminds me of why the USA decided to help France with their Vietnam war. The concise answer is to help French imperialism, but they had to make up an excuse, so they said DeGaulle threatened to join forces with the USSR.
That lame excuse has been used before. It is the excuse to condone evil. Why does the biggest bully on the block need so many allies to the point ...[text shortened]... You are condoning the starvation of thousands of helpless children. Even the Mafia is not that evil.
@divegeester
Spent uranium from reactors is too valuable by the military to shoot off into space since that stuff is the 'ideal' mass to put inside of an anti-tank missile or other ordinance.
Uranium is heavier than lead so inside a bullet the higher mass means more kinetic energy to penetrate hardened targets.
So shooting the stuff into space will cause heart attacks in the military🙂
