Greetings everyone- A new poll just out finds Congress is more disliked than at any time before, and while our President scores far better than Congress, his approval numbers are far from golden as well. This has me thinking, if American's hate our lawmakers in Congress so bitterly, why do we keep voting for them?? Some members of Congress have been there for decades. Maybe the problem is not our lawmakers in Congress. Maybe (to quote the comic strip pogo) "I have seen the enemy, and he is us!" Any thoughts?

I think my Congressman is doing a great job. He is obstructing the Marxist, collectivist, liberal agenda. It's the Nancy Pelosis of the world that need to be flushed down the crapper.

Too bad your Congressman needs California money to keep the welfare checks coming from the Feds.

The approval rating for individual Congresspeople in their respective districts is quite different - not necessarily stellar, but a lot higher than the approval rating of Congress as a whole. This is another problem of district voting systems.

Maybe Egypt should chastise those in the US government for not being a legitimate democracy.
It reminds me of Dirty Harry running for his last term. A year before the election his approval rating in Nevada was only 9%, yet he wins anyway. It's a miracle!!
I guess instead of suspending elections in the US, all they do is rig them in some form or fashion.

vote for a 3rd party and change up the system 🙂
considering that we're 37th (ish?) on the education system list on the planet
i would blame the government for purposely obstructing our god given right to a good education. im looking at you overpriced universities!

Voting 3rd party won't work. Both parties control the votes. You get people like Rwingett who will vote "D" down the line while also conceding that the system is poo. Then you have Republicans who do the same. Both have bought into the propaganda of how bad the other party is. This is key since most Americans hate both parties on some level.
My only question is, will the people rise up like they did in Egypt, so they can subsequently be squashed like they were in Egypt? Only time will tell.
Personally, I would love a photo of an American citizen standing in the way of a column of US tanks.
