i dont know, what i do know is that London is often described as a cosmopolitan city and there is a lot less ghettoisation and more racial harmony in my experience than in other parts of the UK. I guess thats a good thing right?

While it has certainly benefited the west as the price of goods has dropped, its also helping the other economies develop.

Culturally? well thats a bit different and there is a westernisation of certain cultures but i think also that if an indigenous culture is strong it will still survive. India for example seems to be fusing western influences with its own culture rather effectively.

In your experience, I'm assuming you are white ( I may be wrong).
Believe me, relations between different "ethnic minorities" in London are not that great.

I am wondering lately if increasing urbanisation necessarily creates a materialistic culture. Any thoughts? Or is this just a phenomenon of the cultures of the richest countries spreading cancerously with globalisation?
