I would love it because it would cause Trump to grind his jaws.

ANYTHING that pissses of Trump is good in my opinion.
Given that whatever grinds Trumps gears also grinds the gears of 73million fellow Americans I’m not sure that’s a good reason for Biden to do something.
I’m not saying he shouldn’t give him the job I just hope it’s for the right reasons.

Do you know what the purpose of Pentagon is? If so, how does this statement make sense?
I believe in checks and balances and I strongly feel that the military is established to serve the citizenry.

what is so hard to understand?

I agree with that statement; it's your comment that someone from the military shouldn't run the Pentagon that didn't make sense.

The President is Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces according to the Constitution; what difference does it make if his subordinate Secretary of Defense is a retired military officer?

@Duchess64
Why are you not even giving that general a CHANCE? You and a bunch of others castigate him before he even takes office.

What exactly do you think will happen if and when he is confirmed?

You think he will automatically recommend nuking Iran? What?

I did not regard these speculative arguments to reach the level of "corruption" or "incompetence" that I already gave as a reason to deny a President's Cabinet choices.

How does it not make sense to have a civilian be in charge of the military?

Who does the military serve, themselves or the citizenry?

Don't let the military get close to autonomy
