If you are Christian you should believe much of what you can understand from the Bible. If you are not then you look at the available known history and make your own judgement about what is most likely. However there is very little actual evidence that Jesus even existed in the first place. The only possible explanation for most of the Biblical account is that it is either "inspired writing" and therefore reasonably true and you can forget the marriage story, or that it is the writting of one or possibly two people who definately made up a fairly large portion of it as they got some facts glaringly wrong and could not possibly have known about others without "inspiration"

Take any fictional book that sounds sort of believable and full of conspiracy theory, publish it and advertize it and sooner or latter there will be a large number of people who actually believe it (eg much of the Bible)
