a second tid-bit has been leaked from our beloved dept. of homeland security. The "domestic extremism lexicon" defines americans opposed to drivers license for ileagal aliens as threats. those opposed to abortion, mexican separtist, certain jews .puerto ricans, christians and blacks,as well as those into "radical nordic mysticism" Oddly, not one mention of muslims.radical or otherwise. why is that?

Maybe a link to this lexicon would be nice, so we can all discuss the same thing.

Fox News or talk radio are hardly sources of information as I'm sure you will understand. Your article links to the lexicon:

http://www.tdbimg.com/files/2009/04/30/-hsra-domestic-extremism-lexicon_165213935473.pdf

Muslims aren't mentioned explicitly, but they are mentioned implicitly under for example "ethnic-based extremism" and "extremist group". I think most people associate terrorism with 9/11 anyway, so an explicit mention of them would be pointless since everyone knows muslim terrorists. I don't get why you make such a big deal out of this?

well i make such a big deal because they say people who r the threats in this country are people opposed to big federal goverment , opposed to high taxes , upset w/the 16,000,000 or so ileagals in this country getting a free ride,pro-life,etc,etc. a couple of weeks ago they had vets on the list too. so,according to them, myself and main stream america are threats to our own nation. Also ,you say;fox news and talk radio are hardly sources of info.please enlighten me and what is.

Well, pro-lifers have bombed abortion clinics in the past, so seeing them as a threat seems reasonable to me. Likewise, xenophobes are a threat to the stability of the US and a source of racial/ethnic-based violence. Where does it say in the .pdf that people who oppose high taxes are a threat, though? (they are, of course, but that's beside the point)

For general news I would recommend the BBC world news service. They are still biased, of course, but not as badly and blatantly and surely not with a propaganda agenda like Fox News or talk radio.

PAGE TWO states :
"This product provides definitions for key terms and phrases that often appear in DHS analysis that addresses the nature and scope of the threat that domestic, non-Islamic extremism poses to the
United States. Definitions were derived from a variety of open source materials and unclassified information, then further developed during facilitated workshops with DHS intelligence analysts knowledgeable about domestic, non-Islamic extremism in the United States."

It thus deals specifically with "domestic, non-Islamic extremism" - one would assume that there is a FULL volume dealing with the Islamic radicals that you would rather read about.

What is it with you right-wing extremists ? You take every opportunity to become offended and threatened.

Ok, thats about what I expected, coming from Denmark . You resort to name calling "right wing extremist", so Im an extremist for being a veteran of the armed services, opposed to big goverment, high taxes and being pro-life.
It's not that I take offence to DHS and Ms. Napolitano, its that i am concerned seeing my freedoms systematically being stripped away by an administration with the most leftist agenda this great nation has ever seen.
But, you being from Denmark, I wouldnt expect you to understand that.

What liberties has Obama taken away? And were you concerned at all by the systematic dismantling of American Liberties with Bush's illegal wire tapping, Patriot Act, or the increased powers of the executive branch, just to name a few?

Then I would would place this argument before you. When an "ism" is feared to an unhealthy extent, civil liberties tend to fall to the wayside under guise of protection. It happened all over Europe in WWII. I would argue that Democracy was all but dead between the two wars in Europe with the exception of Britain and France because of the fear of Fascism and Communism. So it was fairly easy for totalitarian leaders to use fear to set themselves up as Dictators. In the same vien, I would say Bush pushed the US so far right that a bit of liberal policy(and I would still argue that Obama is far from a lefty liberal Socalist he is a hopless[hopefull?] moderate) would do the US some good in getting us back to the middle.
