Zelensky puts his country over his own pride. Something that the orange manchild cannot himself even imagine doing. Zelensky probably knows it's wiser to just say whatever the manchild wants to hear and give him what he wants, since it's very likely that the MAGA movement is approaching its end, and in a few years a new deal with a sane, grown-up president can be negotiated for Ukraine.
