ANY US citizen has the RIGHT to apply for some government program like say food stamps, which of course will be gone if the big UGLY bill is passed.
So ANY college has the ABSOLUTE right to apply for aid. That doesn't mean they automatically get it but they have the right to apply.
And OF COURSE you hate ANY idea of ANY money going to ANYONE or any organization.
But that is YOUR twisted mind at work. The REAL world has different criteria for that.
Thank you. All you liberals never give up do you ,,,,a proper response would be say yes average joke, they do not have a right to funds from the federal government. Geez. That they have a right to the funds has been sprinkled throughout all of these posts.
Buy you a reasoning, I could apply to my church to give me money out of their bank account.

Oh, Lord. You silly goose. And you actually follow by saying that all colleges have a right!!

Take a shower, man, you have really had a long debate day and it’s not even noon.

You see, Harvard is a private institution. They have absolutely no such right. Let me see, if I can find something on that… Oh yes, here is something

“””Yes, Harvard University is a pr ...[text shortened]... e, Harvard does receive some public funding for research projects, subject to specific conditions. “
They do, however, have a right to accept anyone they want for enrollment, which WAS the original question.

Seems like our top universities shouldn't have over a quarter of their incoming students come from foreign countries when they are turning away so many US students.

I quite disagree. It is laughable that you consider the atmosphere of an institution of learning a place to push their 'political viewpoints' ** on everyone else, who are trying to find the cure for cancer. Politics? Politics is for sure your life's blood to accomplish Socialism, etc, but should you not do it in a place where college students who are learning , to be su ...[text shortened]... alone about Palestine and let us grow America/. Thankyou very much. (why do I think you own a hoody)
College campuses have been the place for protesting the government for ages.

Get over it, and yourself.

Or would you rather just shoot them, like at Kent State?

There are admission standards, fool. Tell your buddies to apply to your local community college.

Americans, like most of your pals, are just too dumb. You can get over it too.

In no way was that the original question.
Sunhouse and I were having a sidebar about whether Harvard has a right to government funds. So you are not in that loop. Note that his response after I convinced him that they do not have such a right, was to say that they have a right to apply For the funds.Geez Suzianne.
One of the most typical liberals responses I’ve ever seen. Just horrible.

Calling for killing someone is a “ political viewpoint”?
You mean like Donald Trump taking out a full-page ad in the New York Times calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five?

You know, the ones later released from prison because new DNA evidence found them not guilty?

You have the right to apply to the POPE for recompense for some slight you might have against Catholics, not saying you do but you can APPLY.
That doesn't mean you would get it.
So ANY organization, college, church, whatever, can ASK for assistance but that doesn't mean they will get it.
Of COURSE you would deny ANY monetary help for ANYTHING or ANYONE if you were in power and we know that full well.

You can then stop throwing a tantrum because someone tried to follow the original thread after someone else came in and hijacked it.

That did not happen.
The evidence against them was incontrovertible and they even confessed to it in the presence of their parents during questioning.

Both sentences in my post are true.

Not the question. Harvard has the same right as any organization to petition for government funding. They might or might not get it. 😆

The question is, if a foreign student is admitted to the US, can Harvard enroll them? Or can gummint say ‘you can’t enroll ANY foreign students unless you do xyz.’

Xyz could be anything: 1) give the Pretender a large aircraft, 2) open an investigation into the Bidenz, 3) spy on people - any ol’ thing. 😆

WHY?
Because you saw that made-for tv movie about them?
That was a work of fiction from start to finish.

You are exactly right. But they do not have a RIGHT to get money as we have discussed,,,,,,You simply did a lib-switch and changed to 'right to APPLY"..
So what to do, start a thread on a 'right to apply'? That is a different subject, good fella.

?? Did I use the word enrollment somewhere? I did not.
You are apparently talking about students? Sonhouse and I were not talking about students, or professors, nor school water fountains for that matter..Geex.

Enrollment??.
