Thank you. Let the record show that No1 confirms that the University does not have rights to government funds.
No one ever suggested that a University DID have rights! 😆

If we stay on point, please,
HAHA! Did YOU ask ME to stay on POINT?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😆

Ok .. If you are correct, then there is no such thing as 'hate speech'. Supporting, and speaking up for, organisations, whose aim is to kill a group of people is hate speech.

Check on this and let me know if free speech includes hate speech.
Stunning hypocrisy from you.

But yes, hate speech is generally protected in the US.https://uwm.edu/freespeech/faqs/what-is-hate-speech-and-is-it-protected-by-the-first-amendment/

It is unnatural to be an American citizen and profess support for those who want to kill Americans. I can bet in the next 10 years, this idea that people can expresses these opinions without consequences will change.
Your assumption, driven by your racism, is that they want to kill Americans.

In the summer, I see groups of middle eastern people in local parks with their children. They bring their hibachis and barbecue their food and you can smell it all over the park. I've gone over to them and talked to them and played with their kids. They always invite me to share their meal. They are just like us. They just want to raise their kids safely without being harassed. But you people are so indoctrinated into your hate of "the other". It's pathetic.

They are a business, however, and they have the right to accept (enroll) students and to reject students, according to their standards. There should be no argument about this. This is just another case of Trumpublicans trying to run the business of those they see as having a competing agenda.

Why so obtuse, Sonhouse? I asked if they have a RIGHT to government funds. You said that they do, and then after I corrected you that they do NOT, replete with a proper link confirming same, you write back that they have a "Right to APPLY".

Why be so obtuse? You could be nice, and say, you are right Joe, they have no actual Right, like say the right of indigents to collect welfare, but I think it would be OK if the apply for such funds.
Geez
Why have you changed the topic from enrolling foreign students to receiving federal aid?

You're trying to make an argument that doesn't exist.

YES, they DO have the right to enroll whomever they wish.

@AverageJoe1 said
Yes. And why bother with their 'reason' for withholding it? The government could say we don't have enough to give you this year, we are going to use it to pay off tuition loans of all students in eight western states, we are so sorry. A reason for not doing so would not be required.
There is NO reason to withhold it, other than punishing them for not going along with your stupid racist policies. It's showboating writ large.

If we stay on point, please, my query is if the university is entitled to govt funds, like indigents are to welfare. Pretty simple, one subject.

Your first paragraph is a given, even Suzianne knows that.

Then,...THEN...you ask what 'I think' about Zionists!??!??!?! What in the hell?

I never mentioned international, students, zionists, palestine, Israel or anyt ...[text shortened]... u libs are obsessed. You and Sonhouse need debate school,, maybe you can get the govt to pay for it.
This thread is ABOUT foreign students.

Why not just address the topic, instead of trying to change the narrative?

Are you getting arrested for your posts?

Then yes, free speech includes hate speech.

It does not include inciting people to hurt others based on that hate speech.

So yes, you can say what you want, but you cannot act on (or cause others to act on) what you say, in a violent manner.

Sue, we can discuss reasons all day long. You may have great reasoning, to not withhold it. That is not the point. They do not have a right to it.

One can say they hate someone, and be protected by free speech. However, if such statements, promote violence or lead to violence, they are not allowed under free speech.

That doesn't affect the fact that actual humans don't mind funding education in this country. We need MORE education, not less.

Now you're just lying.

Your whole point was to throw the topic under the bus.
