Like in 1941, it might take a while to wake the slumbering giant, but once stirred Americans have a way of 'taking care of business' (and not in Trump's way of favoring business over citizens). What we need is a country full of people who want to stop this madman. In 1941 our enemies were foreign. Now they are domestic. We cannot let this go on.

NOT government. Government is not a for-profit industry.
It is in service to the People. Every person, not just the rich.
In a country of 335 million, an army is required for support of the People.
AvJoe might call it "the cost of doing business". Except the cost of doing government is going to be higher because the government employs dedicated Americans who honor the job entrusted to them by the People. Dedicated to the People, not to themselves, or "making money". Government employees take an oath to "protect and defend the Constitution, against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic". One might also consider it a "higher calling", since selfishness is not a requirement, nor is it needed or recommended.

But DOGE is designed to catch waste, something perhaps the oversight committee should see but they belong to the good-old-boy crowd.

We will need a Democrat who is not in thrall to Trump to get America back on track.
At least I would abolish every single thing Trump did since Jan. 20 and I would go further than that and remove every thing he did the first time round too. Biden was supposed to do this, but in four years he caused problems for himself by not removing everything Trump did.
