No, this is not evidence that Erdogan is a dictator suppressing international observation of Turkish elections.
@athousandyoung saidWhere is your evidence?

@earl-of-trumps saidYou mean you have to be corrupt. NATO nations are not democracies.
I think that Turkey is one of the most difficult countries in the world to run. Yeah, you have to be tough.
@metal-brain saidYes he is in all but name a dictator, he jails journalists more than any other leader on earth, he jails anyone who comes close to challenging him electorally.

He’s certainly got his base in the rural areas and his machinations and corruption does the rest. Sound familiar 🤔
@kevcvs57 saidYet the USA and UK have no problem with that. At least I have not heard any complaints from anyone in government. Have you?

What does that tell you? The whole western world could be a dictatorship for all you know. Our governments seem to condone dictators as long as they serve the NATO agenda.
@kevcvs57 saidThen Turkey's NATO membership should be revoked. NATO has a written requirement that all NATO nations be democracies. Turkey is in violation of that NATO requirement.

You crawl up Erdogan's butt, yet you have nothing to say about Viktor Orban?
@metal-brain saidThe difference between Erdogan and Putin is Erdogan keeps his crap within his own sovereign borders.

The hypocrisy of an alliance with Erdogan is not lost on me but given Turkeys strategic importance it would be really stupid to drive him into the arms of Putin completely, they are already soul mates but the two states will always be regional competitors.
@kevcvs57 saidOh, so the same reason we were in a long bloody war in Vietnam to help France keep their colony. To be sure not to drive France into the arms of the USSR.

Fighting a war for imperialism to keep the imperialist power from going into the arms of the USSR. Isn't that akin to rewarding no loyalty. Some would call it sedition.
@metal-brain saidDon’t be so freakin naive the USA was in Vietnam in order to establish / maintain its dominance in the region in regard to China.

The US mission of post WWII was to replace the old European colonial powers not prop them up.
They made a pretty good job of it too.
