@Earl-of-Trumps saidPardon, but your Trumpism is showing.
@Suzianne said (earlier)
Sounds better than the US, which is basically people bitching about what color something is, instead of the nuts and bolts about it.
you're talking about yourself again. lol
I believe Wajoma had you pegged properly... hypocrite
@Earl-of-Trumps saidYou keep missing my point, every time you bring this up, that those people then are the Republican Party now. Why do you think they fought tooth and nail against the Civil Rights Act of 1964?
And just a slight correctio here, Suzianne,,,
You are talking about *your* people here, the democrats, who owned all the slaves, fought for maintain slavery,
ran the Ku Klux Klan, hung African Americans, instituted the Jim Crow laws, and... well, you get the picture, right, Karen?
@shavixmir saidExactly!
Uhuh… it’s not like those political parties haven’t switched roles decades ago,
Is it?
Damn, it's like Wajoma-ism has infected the entire Forum.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidThis has been well-known in American History for decades now.
I showed you where such organizations as KKK were started by the democrats.
did you ever see such an org started by the Republicans?
no.
So what is this "switched roles" stuff?? or show me
As well as discussed in this very forum every time you bring this up.
Where you been?

Now the republicans are the right wing, racist scumbags.
Hey, but you are all right wing scum to me. So, don’t take it personally.
Giant Jewish space lasers. Bunch of fvcking crackers!

@Suzianne saidThe great trick Donald Trump keeps pulling is convincing other people that he knows what he’s talking about.

@Suzianne saidonly in your lying mind, suzianne. or show me:
This has been well-known in American History for decades now.

Where you been?
Show me a group that the Repubs started that was as vicious and murderous as the Ku Klux Klan. SHOW ME
Show me a whole host of disgusting discrimination laws like Jim Crow Laws:
The Jim Crow laws were a collection of state and local statutes that legalized racial segregation in the United States. These laws existed for about 100 years, from the post-Civil War era until 1968. Named after a Black minstrel show character, Jim Crow laws aimed to marginalize African Americans by denying them the right to vote, hold jobs, get an education, or access other opportunities. Violators faced arrest, fines, jail sentences, violence, and even death1. These laws enforced segregation in various aspects of life, including schools, public transportation, restaurants, and public facilities. For instance, in the Jim Crow South, it was illegal for Black Americans to ride in the front of public buses, eat at “whites only” restaurants, or attend “white” public schools2. The term “Jim Crow” itself became synonymous with racial discrimination and inequality. These laws remained in force until 1968.

Now, can you show us where Republicans passed such harmful laws??
The dirt's all on you., Suzie
@no1marauder saidIt's a fear reaction, and the AfD in particular is stoking those fears. The fear is also stoked by Islamo-fascists attacking people in the streets and market squares (a policeman patrolling a political rally was knifed in Mannheim just days before the vote on MEPs).
Disappointing, but not surprising to see that Euros in increasing numbers are willing to spite their economic face by irrational opposition to needed increased immigration in service to white, Christian nationalism.
Violence against politicians across the spectrum is on the rise in Germany, an alarming development, which appears to reflect populist calls for isolationism, withdrawal from pan-Europeanism, and putting the brakes on integration of immigrants (perceived to be a threat):

Britain has fared economically poorly since Brexit and is in ridiculous political turmoil (PM revolving doors since Boris Johnson); the path of EU-withdrawal has been anything but satisfactory for the UK.
I agree with you that isolationist nationalism is cutting the nose off to spite the face of other European countries (Germany, Netherlands), even as other formerly Soviet Block countries try to get in. Messy times indeed. Switzerland looks like an oasis right now, but of course they need access to the EU-market to survive, too.
