Could you point me to the provision in the Constitution that says the Senate doesn't have to "try" an impeachment unless members of more than one political party vote for impeachment in the House?

to make it simple for you. democrats send over articles of impeachment. Republicans hold a vote on to proceed or not. Republicans have the majority and vote not to proceed. Since they have the sole power, it is over at that point.

And that would be because rePUTINicans are scared to death of negative Trump tweets so they hold their nose and vote to acquit even though they know full well Trump is the most corrupt POTUS in US history BAR NONE. But politics for rePUTINicans is WAY more powerful than any threat to our national security or interest or US influence around the planet, now ALL down the tubes because of Trump. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT BECAUSE OF TRUMP. Just one example: Weakening our military by diverting congressional approved funds to the tune of 4 BILLION dollars needed for military construction, all to keep building his incredibly STUPID wall. Just as one example of his corruption.

That's not what the Constitution says, is it? It says the Senate has to "try all impeachments", not dismiss them out of hand. It even provides for the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS to preside over the President's trial, a meaningless provision IF the Senate could simply dismiss the proceedings without a trial.

Now I realize that this will probably never be settled by a r ...[text shortened]... t does not mean they have kept their oath or followed the Constitution. And the People have noticed.
