Let's just skip to that then. Forward thinking with tax dollars.

Nuclear weapons exist as deterrents now, but they CAN be used if a major war breaks out. Not much you can do with tanks against nukes or drones. And the stealth capabilities of an F-35 are completely useless if hackers have access to your entire countries military operations... right?

Let's do backwards thinking, by all means. That's history. Just spend less money on it.

Someday soon, we will be considering wars of drones, unmanned ships, and robots doing all the fighting.

Maybe we will step back and ask, what is the purpose of war?

Tank armor is actually really useful against nukes and the Abrams was definitely intended for a nuclear battlefield. It is heavily armored.

Right we're back into the pointlessness of using a jet to defend an aircraft carrier when the carriers role is carrying jets. A tanks armor might be good to have if a nuclear bomb goes off, but what's the point of the tank itself?

A million tanks, a million jets. We go to war with Russia and they start messing with our water supply and our power grid in the middle of winter? We're spending money on knives so we can bring them to a nuke fight?

$1,700 Billion. That's 8.8 x the net worth of Jeff Bezos. Down the toilet. Lockheed Martin should have to give us back this money... ridiculous

Ya I saw that. It appears to be an ordinance defect, not an aircraft problem

It should be a straightforward proposition to suspend additional F-35 appropriations for further production until Congress has reliable certifications from the Director, Operational Test & Evaluation and GAO that the F-35 can perform fully effectively and suitably and at least nominally better than the aircraft it’s supposed to replace.
It is not too late to dramatically change course.

Its like deja vu all over again as young George would often say.

Can you copy and paste my response/observation to this nugget of yours. I'm too lazy to think of something original.
