Fact checking the fact-checkers is long overdue.
Owens, a well known right wing nut, posted that Biden wasn't the President-elect "literally and legally".

FB shouldn't have labelled it false, though they rightfully could have labelled it stupid:

"For decades news outlets have used the term to describe presidential winners, but there is nothing official about the term. Both Democrats and Republicans have usually described the person projected to win the most electoral votes this way, even shortly after Election Day."

https://www.nbc12.com/2020/11/10/decision-meaning-behind-president-elect/

Owens was pretending that the "news media" was doing something different this year but that is untrue.

Ha! I could see you coming a mile away. Legality is your stock-in-trade, but now here you are discounting the legitimacy of "literally and legally".

It's senseless to complain that a non-legal term isn't being used in a legal sense which is what Owens did. She also implied that the media starting doing it only this year when, in fact, it has been done both in the media and in popular parlance for a long time.

Uh huh... so for this reason do you believe phony fact checkers should be allowed to supress the truth? Does the fact "it has been done both in the media and in popular parlance for a long time" make suppression of the truth an acceptable practice?

Did you even bother to read the article, or decide you didn't need to when you saw the name "Candace Owens".

I read the article; apparently you didn't.

No "truth" was suppressed; Owens' post wasn't removed just incorrectly labeled "false". This was changed after some type of FB appeals process.

In short, it's a nothingburger.

LoL!

"This was changed after some type of FB appeals process."

Owens retained a pair of lawyers to represent her in the lawsuit, including attorney Todd McMurtry, who was part of the legal team representing former Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann. Owens is reportedly suing fact-checkers from USA Today and Lead Stories, according to the Daily Wire.

"It is time to fact-check the fact-checkers," Owens said. "I'm going to put these suckers through discovery and figure out what the relationship is that they have with Facebook."
Yeah, that was "some type of FB appeals process". I'll give ya that.

By the way, if the phony labeling of her comments was as insignificant as you seem to suggest, then why would so called 'fact checkers' feel the need to label her post "false"? Suppression of truth doesn't necessarily mean "removal", it can just as easily be accomplished by assigning labels.
But I don't need to tell you about labels, do I.

"... it's a nothingburger."

Okay folks, move along. Nothing to see here.
And stop bothering left wing-nut loony tune characters with your fact checking conspiracy theories.

Biden is the president-elect. Owen's statement is false. The fact that "president-elect" isn't a legal term doesn't change anything. Trump's transition team has already authorized Biden to receive classified information that Biden couldn't get if he wasn't.

Trump's own actions disprove Owens. And the vote counts. And the vote re-counts. And the judges who struck down Republican voter fraud claims.

"elect" means the electors have voted.
The electors have not voted, so Owen's statement is true.
And if the electorate does not vote by a designated time, then committees from each state will vote.

Trump's transition team has already authorized Biden to receive classified information
So what? If Biden wins he will be prepared to take office. If not, then no harm done.

A president-elect is someone who won the election and hasn't yet started office. That describes Biden, who won the election, making him the president-elect.

Your added garbage regarding "electors" is made up nonsense, "President-elect" is NOT a legal term, and therefore doesn't have official stipulations like electors needing to vote first.

Your imaginary legal terms are false, and Owen's statement denying Biden's president-elect status is also false.

I have been saying that all along and democrats hate being told the corporate news media is steering them wrong again. They simply don't want to believe it even after you prove them wrong.

Chris Krebs was on 60 Minutes today and they let him lie over and over again and get away with it. Thousands of votes were flipped from Trump to Biden in Antrim County MI. It is a fact. It was caught and corrected, but that does not change the fact thousands of votes were flipped.

Chris Krebs is a liar and he deserved to be fired. Antrim County MI proves that. 60 Minutes did a hit piece on Trump by allowing Chris Krebs to continue lying about it. Votes were flipped. It is a fact.
