Fonda promised that the tour would be "pretty exciting"
US actress Jane Fonda says she is planning to go on a nationwide bus tour in protest at her country's military intervention in Iraq.
The 67-year-old activist says she will be joined by families of Iraq war veterans on the tour, due next March, and use a bus run on vegetable oil.

Her announcement, made while promoting her autobiography at a bookshop in New Mexico, was cheered by the audience.

Good for her. Hopefully, the US troops will be out of there by next March, so it'll all be moot (but a van run on vegetable oil might be interesting to watch; I wonder what the top speed will be?).

Several people I know are running old VW and Chevette diesel cars on waste vegetable oil that they get from fast food places. As far as I know there is no loss in performance. However it apparently does take considerable time and work to filter the oil until it is clean enough to use for fuel.

If she couldn't stop Vietnam after 'Barbarella', what hope does she have now?

I'm guessing she doesn't want it stopped. I'm guessing she's hoping for another Vietnam so she can pretend she's relevant one more time before dying. And I'm guessing she's not the only old anti-war activist who feels that way.

What crap. I'm sure all the anti-war activists would prefer that there was no war to be "anti".

I don't know why Jane Fonda gets so much flak, if you pardon the expression. So many myths are peddled about her - she may have made the odd mistake in her early commitment (and she admits to that) to the campaign against the war in Vietnam, but at least she thinks and cares about politics, which is more than you can about most of the airheads that inhabit Hollywood.

She doesn't need it, she's married to Ted Turner. She's rich, bitch!
