HA! Fox settled. Their lawyers figured out their defence wouldn't stand up in court and probably had instructions from their client to prevent any even-more-damaging messages and internal emails becoming public. I hope Dominion got a bundle.
What a waste of time to go through jury selection etc before settling. I think the fox PR team realized how bad it was going to get when the trial began with the agreed upon fact that Fox News lied on air about the dominion voting systems. They ordered the lawyers to settle.

That sure sounds like an admission of wrongdoing.
It's not uncommon for civil cases to settle after jury selection and even after the evidence stage of the trial has started.
@no1marauder saidI don't think they will mention it.
It almost makes me want to watch the Fox "News" shows tonight and see how they try to spin this.
Should be hilarious.

@wildgrass saidThey'll have to say something even if it's some BS "we can't comment because of the advice of our legal counsel".
I don't think they will mention it.
Probably will be a lot of "late breaking" from 2018 news about Hunter Biden though.
Maybe Average Joe can keep us posted.
@no1marauder saidWasn't the original suit for $1.6 billion?

Seems they got off easy.
@shavixmir saidIf all the Fox News talking heads got together and said, "Yes, we all tell lies all the time, just like our President Donald Trump, and oh, btw, Biden is a doddering old fool," they wouldn't lose a single viewer.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65318654Dominion chief executive John Poulos told a press conference the deal included Fox "admitting to telling lies, causing enormous damage to my company".
@suzianne saidMore importantly, I wonder whether this is even registering with Trump supporters, that not only Fox lied about election fraud—Trump lied about election fraud. It won’t be the end of freedom of speech if Fox loses viewers. It will be if Republicans don’t wake up to what a conman Trump is. Truth still matters; there was no massive fraud, the election was not stolen; is this even registering with Republicans? kudos to the judge, who flat refused to allow any defence based on the claim that Trump might have really believed there was massive fraud and that Fox was merely reporting what Trump believed.

The Trump base is the Tea Party faction of the Republican Party which formed when Obama got elected POTUS.
They knew Obama wasn’t an African Muslim but pretended he was, they know perfectly well that Biden won the White House by a margin of millions but continue to pretend to believe that he didn’t.
The truth is that this 35 - 40% of the Republican Party gave up on democracy when a black guy walked into the White House.
All the time they are being framed as misled or stupid the US will never really tackle this racist anti democratic viper at its breast.
